Hi I'm Joshua

I've Lived in several states, and now live in Texas. I am a convert to the church and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was little, I went through a lot of rough times. My parents got divorced when I was 5 and my family was broken. I moved from place to place and went to many different schools and was raised by my mom. It was just the two of us. As I grew up I was taught strong moral values by my mom and always kept those things close to my heart. Growing up we didn't go to church or ever were really religious. I was taught early that there IS a God, and was taught to pray. Prayer was always important to me but for a long time I didn't know what was right and what to believe in. I had been to many different churches but I always felt pressured to go and it was never an experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. Fast forward some years and I moved to Texas to try to make a better life for myself. I finally got a great paying job and started to get successful. Someone introduced me to the church and I started investigating the church. I was skeptical at first and very apprehensive, but I wanted to see what the church had to offer me. What made this religion different from the others that I had been to... I learned from the missionaries on my own and prayed to know if the things they taught me and I learned about were true. Since Prayer was so important to me already, when I prayed I received an answer through the feeling of the Holy Spirit. It was amazing! I was a little scared to admit the feeling of the Spirit at first, but I knew I couldn't deny it. within about a month of meeting with the missionaries, I was Baptized. I was Confirmed at week after my Baptism and was given the privilege of the Aaronic Priesthood. I love my church and I know that this church is true. I know that through prayer we can receive revelation from Our Heavenly Father. I am now a ward missionary and I take pride in helping My Heavenly Father and even Jesus Christ Preach His Gospel. :)

Why I am a Mormon

If someone were to ask me: "Why are you a Mormon?" I would simply say: "I prayed to God and asked him if this is the church I am supposed to follow, and he gave me the answer." I can tell anyone that I know that this church is true. I know that the power of prayer is real and I have experienced answers from God about The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. My Conversion story is too long to list here, but I testify that if you ask Heavenly Father in a sincere heart and spirit about the truths about the church and the Gospel I know that you shall receive a feeling from the Holy Spirit testifying to you the Truths of the church. These things I testify in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I make sure I dedicate every Sunday to Church and Church related things. Sometimes as a member of the Church we are "called" upon to serve the Church and the Lord. I have such a calling. I was called to be a "Ward Missionary". As a Ward Missionary I help the Missionaries in my area go to investigator's homes and even to member's homes to help teach with them. I feel like I show my faith by accepting what the Lord has called me to do. I show my faith when I can go with the missionaries or other Church members to teach and help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love my calling.
