Hi I'm Sadie

Consider on the blessed & happy state of those that keep the commandments of God!

About Me

I live in Canada where I work in Post-Secondary Education & I am attending school for Assistive Technology, which enables students with learning disabilities or otherwise to operate at the same level as other students in the classroom. I love genealogy, music, sports, fitness, dance, theatre, (Especially Shakespeare!) & cooking! But above all, I love the gospel of Jesus Christ & being a member of His church! I am a convert to the church, the only member in my family, & I have been a member for 3.5 years!

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in testing all things & learning by experience. I learned about the Church through members who invited me to read the Book of Mormon & take the missionary lessons. Initially I set out to prove that this church was not true! I tested all of the commandments and learned that they are not only there to protect us, but to enrich all aspects of our lives. I read from the Book of Mormon & prayed to know for myself if it was true. In a very short amount of time I received a personal answer that it was indeed true. We have to exercise faith before we receive the answers we seek - but all of our questions & prayers will be answered so long as we are genuine whenywe ask & ready to act on the answers that we receive. Alma 32 & Moroni 10 in the Book of Mormon are great chapters explaining how to exercise faith & how to receive answers to prayers. I know without a doubt that the Church is true. I know that this is Christ's church. This is why I am a Mormon :)

How I live my faith

Besides attending Church each Sunday I also attend a weekly institute of religion class which is available at most post-secondary institutions. I also love searching for ancestors & building my own family tree using the online software "familysearch.org" I teach a genealogy class in church on Sundays. I love visiting the temple each week as well. I think the most important thing about living your faith is being Christian every day - not just Sundays! I love to study the Book of Mormon each morning & throughout the day, along with other scripture & talks from lds.org or BYU. I listen to uplifting music & pray frequently. I try to share the gospel with others as often as I can because it has brought me so much happiness. The best way to live your faith is with integrity, keeping God's laws at all times & learning all that you can so that you internalize the gospel & it becomes who you are, & not just what you do. Nothing feels better than blessing the lives of others by sharing gospel truths & being an example of goodness. If we are living our faith right, we will always be better today than we were yesterday!

What is faith?

"Faith is a hope in that which is not seen which is true." Alma 32 is a chapter from the Book of Mormon which answers this question best! Show more Show less

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

Sadie
Without being a member, you are always welcome to participate in church services, activities, or lessons at any time. You can request that full time missionaries visit you to teach & answer any questions that you may have. Mormon.org is a great resource for learning about the Church but the best way to learn is to experience for yourself. The most important step in learning, is to read from the Book of Mormon & pray to know for yourself that it is true. If you go to the LDS Maps website & type in your address, you can find the closes meeting house to you! There are always missionaries online on Mormon.org chat as well! Show more Show less
