Hi I'm Tamara.

I want to be a counselor for young women. I'm a wife of a Marine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Tamara. I am 19 years old and a wife and mother of a 2 year old little girl. I am a convert to the mormon religion and even though its only been 2 months since i've joined the church, it has changed my whole life in so many ways. If i could tell the world one thing about being LDS, it is that it will change your life and bring you so many blessings that you couldnt imagine how many. I know that it is the ONLY religion that actually abides by EVERY commandment Jesus taught. Chastity, Servicing, keeping the Sabbath day Holy, ETC... and actually sticks to it! I want to someday be a counselor of troubled young women that grew up without guidance. I will be able to relate in so many ways and i know that i could help them. I love to write stories, read, and learn about anything and everything. My mind is always like a sponge. I want to learn everything! I'm a bit of a thrill-seeker. I love to have fun and be proactive in good causes.

Why I am a Mormon

I have come from a broken family growing up, been abused mentally, emotionally, and physically. Because of my lack of parental guidance and support, i had to grow up well before my years. I got pregnant at the age of 15 and had a baby girl when i was 16. Not married and without any guidance at all. I made myself finish high school with the baby because i knew my baby was never going to have to go through the kind of life i went through. I was going to break this chain of dysfunction in my family and start fresh. When i turned 18 i broke free from my abusive mother and set out to find out who i was. I got into trouble, acted out, and certaintly paid for my mistakes. I eventually re-connected with my brother (who grew up mormon because of our separate fathers) and he and his wife introduced me to the church. My life has done a complete 360 and i am a brand new person. Leaving the old me far gone and to never come back again. I got baptized on November 28th and i got married on December 14th to my daughter's father. I am an active member in the church with a life-changing testimony, Currently being 19 years old and a new convert, I know that this church is true and since it was revealed to me my life changed forever. I couldnt imagine living another way. I always wanted to give my daughter everything I ever lacked in my life, love, direction, healthy childhood, support, and good parenting, i just didnt know how to do it until now. I am surrounded with the most amazing people i've ever met, who will bend over backwards just to help whenever i need them. Not only have i gained new friends, but a family. One that i have longed for all my life. They dont judge me for the past, they only guided me to where i needed to be and were thankful that i wanted to better my life. I am a mormon because it made my life make sense and made me the mother i always wanted to be.

How I live my faith

Since i feel so privleged to be apart of the Relief Society, the largest women's group in the world, I feel that it is my duty to improve myself as a mother and wife everyday. And that is the only way its ever been revealed to me to learn how. My husband just got his Aaronic Priesthood. Since we are new converts, we are still waiting on our callings and are working on getting our Patriarchal Blessing (blessings that are told to come if we follow the straight and narrow). I am staying true to the Words or Wisdom and all commandments that the Lord Jesus Christ has set so that my family will live a happy life and receive the wonderful blessings that Heavenly Father will give my family in our lifetime.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Tamara.
We believe that the purpose of our life is to continually strive to be like Jesus Christ so that we may live in the Celestial kingdom with our Heavenly Father and our families for all of eternity. We want to serve others as Jesus did his whole life, we want to keep the commandments throughtout our life and make a difference in the world while continually spreading the gospel for all to know.
