Hi I'm Hannah

I've lived overseas. I'm a flautist. I'm a pharmacy tech. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the third oldest of four children, and have two great parents. I'm currently serving as a full-time missionary in the Florida Tallahassee Mission. I've grown up living overseas in Indonesia for half of my childhood. And I'm also college student from Texas. I love serving others, and making other people smile, and laugh. Some of my hobbies consist of drawing cartoons, self potraits of others, practicing piano, singing, and swimming. My ambitions in life are to find happiness, and be happy!

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church has blessed my life incredibly. I think the reason why I love being a member is because the doctrine and the standards of the Church bring much sense, purpose, and clarity to my life. From the things that I've seen in my life, I know that without the knowledge of the truths that have been restored that are in the Church, I'd probably be confused about who I am, what is the purpose of life, and who is this loving Heavenly Father. It's through knowing that there's a living modern prophet, and reading and praying about the Book of Mormon that I know the Church is true. I also know that being apart of the Church has helped me enjoy just being myself more fully, and that I can be the best that I can be.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm serving as a full-time missionary in Florida, which consists of teaching people about truths that have been restored to the earth from our Heavenly Father. I go to church regularly every Sunday, and read both the Bible and the Book of Mormon together daily. I also participate in whatever community service I can find, and enjoy seeing other people smile.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Hannah
No the Church doesn't require every member of the Mormon faith to serve a mission. Every missionary that is serving or former missionaries that have served a mission serve because they volunteered to go and serve a mission. Serving a mission is not a requirement, but it is encouraged, and the reason why it is encouraged is because when members of the Church gain a testimony of the Restored Truths that are in the Church they feel a desire to go and teach and serve those that don't know about our faith and invite others to come and see what our faith is all about for themselves. What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Hannah
We believe in a loving Heavenly Father who wants us to be happy and successful and knows ways that we can receive that happiness. One of His greatest expressions of His love was sending his Son Jesus Christ to save the world from their mistakes or sins so that we can one day return to live with our Father in Heaven again in His presence. One of the other multiple ways that our Father in Heaven shows His love towards us is by giving us commandments that we may live by and follow. Many might think that God's laws are just a form of control, when actually it's not the case at all. We believe that Heavenly Father has given us commandments for our own benefit, just like laws of driving a car is not to inhibit a driver's freedom but to insure safety of the driver and society, so it is with obeying God's commandments and the nature of God.
