Hi I'm Erik

Im a aspiring artist, Im a missionary, I believe only through a stuctured life are you truely free, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My hobbies consist mostly of drawing, reading, games on the 360 and soccer. I can never get tired of soccer. Right now Im finishing a mission for the church and and when i get home i will go to work and save up a little more for school. My over all goal in life is to start a family. My passion is art. I especially love concept design, which relates to designing charactors, creatures, landscapes and anything else that is needed for either videogames or movies or other types of media. Im not a master in that field yet but i feel I have a great foundation. Im not the biggest social, out going guy but i do love the spend time with others. I try to help others around me to feel good about themselves by showing interest in what they say and complimenting when needed. I love my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons why I am a member of this church, some spiritual, some doctrinal, and some personal. I could go on all day talking about why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but for you I would like to share more along the personal line. When I was eight years old my mother passed away from cancer. It was hard on me and my family. I was young but the situation was verry clear to me that the rest of my life would be dramatically affected by it. But as I grew I learned from my Dad and in sunday school that my relationship with my mother didn't just end there. I learned that God had prepared a plan, before the foundations of this earth were layed, for his children to be happy not only in this life but in the next also. In this plan he gave us families, not only for this life but also for this life after to continue for eternity. If you have ever heard and LDS member say "families are forever" this is what they mean. I am still a member today because I have gained a personal testimony of all the things that are taught. I have read and studied the Book of Mormon many times and have felt myself come closer to the savior by reading it. I know it is true because I have prayed about it, like millions of others have, and recieved a spiritual witness from God that it is true. Why is it so important to know that this book is true? Because everything rests upon it. If the Book of Mormon is inpired schripture from God than that means that Joseph Smith was HIS prophet and if Smith was a prophet then what he taught was true because a prophet of God cant teach false doctrine. And over all if this book is true then it is evidence that Christ lived, was resurrected, and visited the Amaricas. I am confident that anyone who reads this book will come closer to chris and will come to know that it is true.

How I live my faith

The way I am living my faith at the moment is by serving a mission in the state of Washington. The way it works is I saved up my money before I came out, filled out some paperwork, went to the "Missionary Training Center," then they mailed me off to the Washington Tacoma Mission. For two years, every month, the money I saved up gets put into a globel pool and gets devided among the different missions around the world to provide just enough money for groceries and supplies. We leave at home all distractions. Like work, school, family, friends, and entertainment to commit all of our time to the Lord and the building of zion on earth. During our mission we teach people about Jesus Christ and His resored gospel, and we serve others to the best of our ability. My two years are almost up. God had made me clay in his hands and has molded me into what he knew I could always be. I have had the time of my life, and i wouldn't trade it for the world.
