Hi I'm Randy

I was born in Utah and raised in California. I love to surf and play the ukulele. I'm a husband, father, grandpa and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I guess you could say I'm a thrill seeker who believes in living life to the fullest! I have skydived, rock climbed, skateboarded, hang-glided, mountain biked, skied, snowboarded and surfed. I love being in and around the ocean and the mountains. I spend most of my time working in advertising as a graphic designer and fulfilling my church responsibilities on Sundays and throughout the week. Though I am getting older, I still love to surf, shape surfboards, mountain bike and relax by learning a new song or two on my ukulele. Most importantly though, I love being a husband, a father, a member of this Church and a grandpa to six unbelievable grandchildren. Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a spiritual person. Though I was raised and baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, my actual conversion came later in life when I went on a two year mission to New England and the Eastern States. I was able to see in others the joy and love that comes with the acceptance of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. The spiritual feelings that I had as a child became stronger and more intense. I came to realized that all the sacrifices that I thought I was making to go on a mission were changing me—and it was for the better. I become a happier person as I served others and studied in depth about the life of Jesus Christ and what He gave up to be our Savior. I also realized that when I did what Christ and our Prophet asked me to do, I gained confidence and peace of mind. Through prayer I have come to know that I am a son of a Heavenly Father who loves me no matter what mistakes I make. What comfort repentance and a commitment to do better brings. I don't know what I would do without the Savior's loving Atonement that has changed my life. I am a Mormon because I have never felt these kind of feelings before. The Spirit tells my heart that the doctrines of the Church are true. I continue to grow spiritually each and every day. I know that Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are real. I’m grateful beyond words to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I have had many different callings in the Church. I presently have two responsibilities on Sundays that help me exhibit my faith and beliefs. I am in the Presidency of the men's group and also teach the twelve year olds in Sunday School with my wife. Both callings, though very different, are extremely satisfying. I feel there is no greater calling than being a teacher, whether in the home or at Church. Part of my responsibility in our men's group is to visit each member periodically in their homes and become aware of their spiritual, emotional and temporal needs. I try to live my faith by not only being available to my fellow brothers in our group but by being an example to them along with the boys and girls that we teach in Sunday School. I also have many non-member friends in the graphic design and surfing business. They know that I am a Mormon and that among other things, I don't drink, smoke or use bad language. I live my faith by trying to be an examples to those I work with and surf with. I really believe that my actions say more about my religious beliefs than anything else. I try hard every day of the week to focus on my own actions while at the same time showing concern for others.
