Hi I'm Crystal

I love to sew and swing dance. I'm a Mormon forever!

About Me

I have a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in sewing. I love to ballroom dance with a special place in my heart for big band and swing. There is a strong tradition of quilting in my family, and that is a tradition I plan to hold strong to. My family is SO important to me. I'm so grateful for the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ that teaches me how I can be with my family forever.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was nine, my 8-year-old sister was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. The next year was so hard, yet it was very amazing to see an outpouring of love from our local congregation, to see miracles, and to feel an extra measure of the Spirit of God in our home. However, my childlike faith was tried when she passed away. I was mad at God for letting her die, and to let such a terrible thing happen to our family. I was afraid the principles and ordinances of the Gospel I had grown-up in weren't true - after all, God hadn't answered our prayers she would recover. I decided to muster what faith I had left and pray one more time to know that God was really there, that He really loved me and my family, and that the ordinance in our temples that allow families to be together forever was real. I needed to know if I would see my sister again. I promised God if He answered me I'd do my best to do His will. He answered me. He sent me an eveloping and overwhelming sense of love and peace assuring me all I'd been taught was true, everything was going to be alright, and His plan for us and our families to return and live with Him forever was worth committing to and living. I testify it is true and it's all possible through our Savior Jesus Christ and by accepting and living the priciples and ordinances of His Gospel.

How I live my faith

I'm often asked to accompany congregational hymns on the piano in our church meetings. I participate in (and occasionaly lead) our congregation's choir. I had the privilege of serving as a full-time missionary in the California Arcadia Mission where for 18 months I spent my days seeking to share my beliefs and testimony with others so they, too, can experience the divine peace and love I have to guide me in my life. I have and will fulfill other various responsibilities given to me in my local congregation. Committing to follow God's will is sometimes challenging, but it's the most rewarding choice I've ever made and it blesses me every day. I have daily prayer and scripture study. I seek for opportunities to serve and be more Christlike. Trusting in God and following His plan and His commandments truly is the way to have the most peace and happiness in this life, and in the life to come.
