Hi I'm Andrew

I love snow skiing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a missionary in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission. I enjoy learning about cars and playing volleyball. I grew up in Texas and am the oldest of three in a family of 5. I like to talk, walk, play, learn, and stay active.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the church but I'm a Mormon because I love taking part of the fullness of the gospel and of the blessings from it. I have a light in my life from it that I can't imagine my life living without. Through the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, we are all able to find true happiness wherever we are. The blessings from the gospel are life changing and gives me personal sureness that God loves us so much and wants me to be happy! WIthout the gospel I don't know where I would find help and happiness in this life.

How I live my faith

I live by doing my best to always be a better person and to be Christlike. By being Christlike I feel more love in my heart and worry a lot less about myself and instead focus on others and how I can make the world a little bit better. Something that I have noticed that makes a difference is how often I smile. When I smile, just for something simple, I notice a change in my attitude and in my outlook at life. Reading my scriptures and praying everyday already makes my day go better even when I'm not feeling the most pleasant. When I pray, I pray sincerely on specific things and to always have hope and faith in what I've prayed for and to keep myself pure in heart. By living the gospel, I'm not guaranteed to have a good day every day, but am promised with blessings and comfort and am always reassured with love the Lord has for me and for everyone.

Are Mormons Christians?

Andrew
The name "Mormon" is just a nickname for the church. Our real name that we go by and refer ourselves as members to is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The name mormon came from the Book of Mormon when it was first published in 1830. Because of the name of the book, people just started picking it up as something to call us by which are "Mormons". We do nothing but worship God the Father though his son Jesus Christ. This is Christs church! It's not Joseph Smith's, it's not our current prophet Thomas S. Monson's church, it's not Brigham Young's church. All of these people are prophets who lead and guide the church as the prophets of old did, and why the name of the church has "latter day saints" is because we are in the latter days and this the last dispensation-meaning time when there is a prophet on the earth-with a prophet right now and there hasn't been a dispensation since the last of Christ's original apostles were killed off. This current dispensation was opened by God calling Joseph Smith to be the next prophet of Christ's Gospel. So, if this is Christ's true church, and we do nothing but worship Christ and teach to be like him, how are not we Christian? It is simply stated in the name. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Andrew
When Missionaries visit a home, they are only asking if they can share a message about Jesus Christ and how the fullness of his gospel, as it once was set up during his ministry, is now back on the earth today and how through the fullness of the gospel we recieve true happiness in this life and have true happiness eternally. You can expect the missionaries to talk about how God is our Loving Heavenly Father and how we are all literally his sons and daughters, everyone! He loves us so much and wants us all to be happy! He once again established Christ's church on the earth and we can know if he really has by reading and praying about the Book of Mormon in knowing if it's true or not. If the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith was really a prophet of God and was given power from him to translate it from ancient record, and if he's a prophet of God, than The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints really is the gospel restored to its fullness!
