Hi I'm Bridget

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of six children and a grandma of four. I get up at 5am to teach a teenage study group

Why I am a Mormon

Initially I was a member of the church because my parents were members before I was born. But now it is because I choose to be. I was baptised at 8 years old because I knew it was the right thing to do and I was so excited at the time. I have had many challenges in my life, the death of a child, serious illness and divorce and I have found the teachings of the gospel to be comforting and they have provided me with direction when I have needed it most.

How I live my faith

Following the teachings of Jesus Christ means living and acting as He would. The scriptures record how often he had compassion on those that were often ignored or considered unworthy. He helped people from all areas of society and I have tried to be like Him in a similar way by accepting assignments at church, in the community and at work, that have helped people to raise their self esteem, feel loved, understand important truths, learn and improve skills in all kinds of areas and, more importantly, have helped people to change their lives for the better. As a result in acepting these assignments I have learned new skills, developed and discovered talents and improved myself in many ways. I have served on PTA committees, trained as a swimming teacher, helped raise money for a local hospice at charity events and promoted healthy eating at schools. At church I have been a pianist, organized a choir, organized and participated in youth events and taught various classes for children, teenagers and adults. I have also been a seminary teacher for 10 years in totals. This is a daily hour long class, often held before school starts, where the scriptures are studies and related to modern day life and events. This is a great programme that helped me when I was a teenager, to evaluate my testimony and decide if this was how I wanted to live my life.
