Hi I'm Heather

I am currently a full-time "cheerleader" and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

A fellow Christian mother and friend of mine recently described herself as a "cheerleader:" being a full-time mom and wife so that she can support her husband and kids fulfill what they are currently working on. I feel the same way! Some of my current interests include learning to raise my kids and be a supportive spouse, reading, music (I play the organ, guitar, and piano), sports, cooking, and spending time with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are Mormons, so I was born and raised in the LDS faith. However, I gained my own testimony independent of my parents when at a young age I finished reading the Book of Mormon by myself, and by the time I finished the book after months of reading, I realized that I was more happy, more confident, and that I felt close to my Heavenly Father. I continue to live the gospel of Jesus Christ and it is an integral part of my life. I know that following the teachings of Christ's gospel bring us peace in our lives, because I have experienced that for myself. I believe that Christ's atonement and ressurection make it possible for us to live with our families again, and my family is my greatest source of happiness.

How I live my faith

I play the organ during my ward's weekly worship services, work with girls age 8-11 in my ward to develop their talents and learn to serve others, and I also teach my family about the gospel on a regular, weekly basis.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

We believe the Bible is the word of God. It teaches us about Christ, and about God's relations with His children from Adam to the time of Christ. If we follow the teachings of the Bible, we will grow closer to Christ. We love the Bible. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

We believe that life does not begin with birth or end with death. Our spirits are eternal and lived with God before we came to Earth and were given a body, and after we die, we will meet Him again. If we follow God's plan for us in this earthly life, we will get to live with Him forever. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are just regular Christian women! We try to raise good families, maintain high standards in our homes and communities, and serve others. We absolutely believe in men/women equality! We believe that the purposes and duties for men and women are different, but one is not less than the other. We need each other, with all our complimentary differences, in order to acheive our highest goals and destinies. Show more Show less
