Hi I'm Justin

Don't Worry, Be Happy, Smile :D

About Me

My name is Justin. I'm from the great lone star state of Texas! I'm a native Texan, born and raised and love it! I'm the oldest of 6 children. I am a very competitive person and love a good challenge! I love being outside, camping, backpacking, running, going to the park and playing every sport you can think of! I play the piano and paint as well. I strive each day to learn something new and become a better person! Basically i'm a very active person who loves to have fun!

Why I am a Mormon

My family means EVERYTHING to me. WIth the restored knowledge that families can be together forever brings great comfort and joy into my life! I know that after this life we can indeed live with them again with God forever. With this knowledge I strive to have the best relationships I can with my family! I have watched friends go down paths that I have no desire to follow. Growing up in some rough schools I have always relied on what i've been taught in church and especiallly in my home. I learned that every decision you make in life has a consequence, whether positive or negative. As I watched my friends do things and the negative impact it had on their lives, I had a greater desire to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ that I learned of in church! Everything I have in this life I thank for being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! It has taught me to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, curtious, kind, obedient, cheerful, clean, reverant, forgiving, dedicated, self-reliant and most of all loving!

How I live my faith

The values and principles i've learned as i've grown up in the church have been a foundation for me to build my life upon. The main way I live my faith is by serving others. Jesus Christ did exaclty that. So why not myself? I love doing service for others and helping out in anyway possible! When I was younger, I had the opportunity to serve an elderly widow with my father. As we served her, I could see the joy and happiness that we brought into her life. WIth this great opportunity it molded the rest of my life and gave me a desire to serve everyone! The feeling I feel as I help others brightens my spirit and helps me appreciate the things I have in life! I LOVE providing service with a smiling face and a helping hand to ALL those in need! To bring them a sense love, comfort, friendship and joy :)

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Justin
I like to compare wards, stakes and branches to school districts. A school district you have a number of schools within the district. The same is for what we call a stake. A stake is a group of wards. A ward is a congregation or group of people in a certain area. Just like the individual school within the school district. A branch is just like a ward, but with a smaller number of people. So the smallest unit is a branch. Once a branch grows large enough in member it becomes a ward. When there become a number of wards in an area they make a stake. Show more Show less
