Hi I'm Dean

I'm from south Georgia. I'm as Southern as they come and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Southeast Georgia. I love hunting, fishing, good barbeque and pecan pie. My wife Silvia an I have been married for 20 years. We have three awesome boys. I am a firearms instructor for a Federal Agency and I love it. I'm also a Registered Nurse. I love being a husband and a father. I have many good friends and I try hard to be a good friend.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church when I was very young. I was baptized when I was eight and was raised in the church. I never doubted it's truthfulness eventhough as a teenager I didn't always set the the example that I should have. When I was nineteen I received my mission call to serve in Uruguay. Up until that point I still felt that I was borrowing from my parent's testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. It was while teaching and serving the people in the mission field that I truly received a knowledge that this is the Lord's restored church. As I taught gospel truths the spirit testified to me over and again of the divinity of this work. I am a Mormon because the spirit has testified to me that this is the true church of Jesus Christ with the same authority and power of the original church. Using the commandments that the Savior gave us as a guide I have found true happiness. I know that because of Christ's atonement I can be forgiven of my sins. It is through his love and mercy that I can have joy in this life and the life to come.

How I live my faith

Living my faith to me means that my behavior and lifestyle reflect the morals, standards and principals that I claim to possess. I live my faith by treating my wife with love and respect. By letting her know daily how much I appreciate what she does for me and our boys. My sons should be able to use the example of how I treat their mother as a gauge of how they should treat the women in their lives. I live my faith by being a good a husband, father, son, brother, friend and employee. I learn how to do this by reading the scriptures and following their council and by praying and seeking guidance directly from my Heavenly Father. I live my faith by providing for my family and making sure that their needs are met be they temporal, emotional, or spiritual. Also by serving my Heavenly Father in whatever calling he asks me to serve. I am grateful for the abilities and talents that I have been blessed with and understand that I have the obligation to use them to serve others. I live my faith by striving daily to become the person that my Heavenly Father wants me to be. I realize that he knows my full potential and what I need to do to reach it. I know that if I am personally righteous I will have the spirit with me to inspire me and guide me in the choices that I make.
