Hi I'm Tyler

I'm loving life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm all about music and sports. Volleyball and Basketball are at the top. I play the cello and guitar. If there's a competition I'm there, that's probably my biggest vice.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply, there is no greater joy in life. Temporary joy is overrated and God's plan gives us the eternal variety. Personal joy, independent of what the world or people throw at me, is the reason I'm a mormon. Ask a Mormon about it , it's Great!

How I live my faith

I try to lift people up day to day, and share what God's done for me when there are people ready to hear it. I go to church weekly, and pray and read His word daily. It keeps my testimony of Him strong and gives direct and specific direction when I have big decisions to make. I TRY to live worthy of His grace because I can't live worthy of salvation without it.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Mormonism is the nickname of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We have a unique and powerful message to the world. It is this; through a living prophet, in these days, God has restored his plan of salvation in it's fullness, with the atonement of Jesus Christ in the center. We believe in a very literal sense that Christ is the price that Heavenly Father required, and that he offered himself as such. Because of this all men and women will be resurrected, or their spirits and bodies will be reunited after day. Christ is also the way our sins may be washed clean, this gift is not freely given to all. Christ has set laws and commandments we must live by to receive a remission of our sins and return to live with our Heavenly Father as a perfect being. These laws and commandments all fall under the gospel of Christ taught all througout the scriptures. The gospel is 1.Faith in Jesus Christ 2. Repentance 3. Baptism by one holding God's priesthood authority 4. Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost 5. Enduring to the end. What message could be more important?!!! Show more Show less

What is faith?

Faith is the assurance of hoped for, the evidence of which not seen(Hebrews 11:1) A more complete and the most inspiring exhoration on faith I've ever heard is found in Alma 32. Faith is literally (literally in this case used in its correct place) power. This power requires effort on our part to develop and Alma 32 explains how. Prayerfully read that chapter. Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, it is a blessing to go. The Lord has said through His prophet that he expects every worthy and able male member of the church to serve. Blessings from serving a mission are predicated on meeting the Lord's expectation. I'm serving a mission right now and I'm glad I was invited to come out here. I grew up knowing that my parents would love for me to go, but would love me no matter what. It's the best two years of our lives so a lot of us look forward to coming out and serving a mission. But no, we are not required to go, I have many great friends back at home that did not go for some reason or another and are still members of the church with great testimonies of Christ. People can choose not to obey the ten commandments, it is within their choice, but the blessings that were entitled to them are lost. The same thing happens here. I am biased on this subject because this mission has already and will continue to completely changed my life. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Because it is the word of God. Any who would like to find this out may read the Bible, ponder in their hearts the message it contains and then ask God the eternal father, in the name of Christ is the book is true. By the power of the Holy Ghost they may know that this is true. This method can be used to find the truth of anything. If you have not yet gained a testimony that the Bible is the word of God, develop one. I strongly encourage you to; it will change your life because Jesus is the Christ and the fulness of His gospel is found in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. It is important to recognize that there are many versions of the bible and many translations. Because of my testimony of the spirit I know that if there are mistakes of man in the translations, the Holy Ghost and direction from modern day prophets can help us understand exactly what was taught by God through his prophets of old. What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead or Trinity. We believe in God the Eternal Father, and in his Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. (Article of Faith 1) The Holy Ghost has the sacred mission to testify of Heavenly Father and the Son. His purpose is in complete unity with those of whom he testifies making the Godhead one God. The Holy Ghost however, is a spirit and doesn't have a body as Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father have so that he can dwell in us to testify of the Father.(Doctrine and Covenants 130:22) It is he who was present on the day of Pentacost that taught so many thousands to know of our Savior Jesus Christ. It is through the Holy Ghost that we may know the truth of all things which includes that anybody may know that Jesus is the Christ, that Joseph Smith is his prophet and revelator that restored this church and that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God. No amount of pursuasion can replace the knowledge one gets from the power of the Holy Ghost. Members of the church, through the promise made at baptism are promised a constant companionship of the Holy Ghost if we keep the commandments as Christians, always remembering Christ. This brings the lasting peace that the world is looking for. Show more Show less
