Hi I'm Darci

I love music, dance, and my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I teach piano and voice lessons out of my home, I am planning to pursue a degree in music. I love music, and I love teaching. I am grateful to have such a wonderful life. I have been blessed with two amazing parents, and wonderful siblings who teach me by their life and examples how to be a better person. In 2007, I was married to my incredible husband who loves me and does all he can to provide for us. In 2009 our son was born, and has been a huge blessing in our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in a home where Mormon doctrine was taught, I still had my own doubts. As I went through high school and was exposed to worldly things, I started to wonder if what I had been taught was really true. I had to pray, to find out for myself. When I did, I felt a warmth in my heart that told me it was all true, and real, and more powerful than I'd ever thought possible. The Gospel is real, God lives, and Jesus is the Christ. They love us, and I know it.

How I live my faith

I served a mission for the Church from Nov. 2005 to June 2007, in SaltLake City, Utah on Temple Square. It is a historical site for the Church, and has incredible stories. If you ever get the chance, you should visit. I currently serve as the primary chorister in my local ward (congregation). The children in the primary program are ages 4-11. They learn the gospel through the songs I teach them throughout the year. I am also assigned to visit certain women in the ward to make sure they are doing well, and see to any needs they might have.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Darci
No. The young men in the Church who receive the Priesthood (the Power of God on earth, given to men to perform His work) are called by our Heavenly Father to prepare for and serve missions. Serving a mission is a Priesthood responsibility. Young men who do not hold the priesthood, or do not have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel are encouraged to make changes to their lives, so that they can serve. Young women in the church are given the option of serving. Show more Show less
