Hi I'm Kera

I love adventures, chocolate, and bubble baths. I am blessed with a wonderful family, including my dog. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in sunny Southern Utah surrounded by lots of red dirt and good people. At age 18, I moved four hours away from home to go to college. There I became friends with and fell in love with the love of my life, Clint. We have been happily married for two years and love the new addition to our family, our puppy Oreo. Recently we moved from Utah to Connecticut for my husband's work. We have enjoyed exploring the east coast and getting to see so many historical sites. I go to school full time which keeps me pretty busy. But in my free time I love to do anything artsy, play the piano, cook, read a good book, and play with my puppy. I love learning new information and also developing new skills. I have been blessed with a great intermediate and extended family who is so supportive of everything I do. This has given me the confidence to get out, explore life, and find out who I really am and what purpose I serve on this earth.

Why I am a Mormon

At first I was just a Mormon because I was raised Mormon, but I hit a point in my life where I had to know for myself that this was the true church. That point came in high school when I was only a couple years from being out on my own and I knew I needed to decide what was the truth. I did a lot of "soul searching" those few years which included reading my scriptures and praying a lot to know what to do. There was a point when I just knew that this was the true church. I felt so peaceful inside and there was a spirit about my life that I had never felt before. I felt like I belonged somewhere and that I had a purpose in life. I get up every morning and try to do the best I can because I know that my life does matter and my Heavenly Father cares about me and wants me to succeed in life. My life as well as others lives are not overlooked, but cherished by the one who created our spirits. We are each special in our own way and being a Mormon has taught me that. That we each have our own purpose in life and that our accomplishments here upon this earth are not wasted, but will be utilized both in this life and the life to come.

How I live my faith

Sometimes it is not easy to live my faith, but even when I make mistakes I know that I can be forgiven and strive to do better each day. I live my faith mainly through participation in the church. My husband and I are involved with teaching the three year olds in our ward. They have such a sweet spirit about them and teaching them about Christ and his gospel renews our faith each and every week. Just going to church activities helps me live my faith too because I am surrounded by those who are such good people and carry a spirit about them that makes me want to strive to do better in increasing my spiritual capacity. Reading the scriptures enlightens me to things that I need to do better, which intern makes me a better person in the end. Finally praying helps me live me faith the most. I think as humans we don't always have enough internal strength to handle everything ourselves. There are many situations where we just need a little extra boost from up above to get us through good and bad times. My prayers are constantly answered and I have been blessed beyond what I deserve, but this motivated me to live my faith even more so I can continue to be blessed.
