Hi I'm Brett

I'm a Mormon. I live in Colorado and I like to ride motorcycles.

About Me

My wife and I have been married for almost 25 years, I was raised in Idaho, my wife was raised in Michigan, I have been a member of the church since my teen years, my wife converted to the church at age 21. We have four daughters 18, 20, 22 & 24. I am an Executive for a global insurance company and my wife is returning to school to brush up on her Para Legal skills. We enjoy motorcycle touring and we have taken trips across the USA, Europe and Australia, where I served a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I want to become a better person, and I want to become more like the Savior.

How I live my faith

Living our faith is not easy and I have much to work on, but I realize it is a journey that I really enjoy and I am constantly learning and growing. I am currently serving as the Secretary in our Elders Quorum and this gives me an opportunity to work with the Presidency to serve the members of our Elders Quorum. Since I am new to the area, this calling has enabled me to meet many people in my neighborhood and make some good friends pretty quickly.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Brett
If you are sincerely interested in learning...the missionaries will teach you about the original church that the Lord Jesus Christ set up while he was on the earth...then you will learn about a period of falling away or a deterioration and corruption of the original church...then a restoration of those pure and simple truths that have been restored to the earth again to help us in our day. The Holy Bible will become an important part of your study along with other scriptures which have given to us to help us in our lives today. Show more Show less

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Brett
Since I have four daughters, I thought I would try and provide some perspective around modesty and chastity. We can learn in the Bible that the natural man is an enemy to God. And the natural man can be tempted by inappropriate dress, thoughts and actions. By dressing modesty and following the rules of chastity, we avoid making heartbreaking mistakes that can tarnish relationships with God, Family and Friends. Young women can increase their self esteem if they will recognize that modesty and chastity increase self worth. Parents can help teens by talking to them and encouraging them to recognize appropriate and inappropriate dress, music , language and behaviors. Show more Show less
