Hi I'm Jenny

I am one of 12 children. I am learning how to raise four of my own. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter, a sister, a wife and a mother. These roles define me. Family is central to my life. The degree that I received in Marriage, Family and Human Development has helped me as I strive to create a family of my own. I believe that my love for running, water skiing, volleyball, singing and piano have come because of the momories that are attached to each of those activies.

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a legacy of people who are part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This is a blessing and is something that motivates me. Even though this faith has always been part of my life, I remember reading in the Book of Mormon while on a study abroad in London and realizing that what I had been taught my whole life was true. This was one of many experiences I have had throughout my life that testify to me that Jesus lives, that I am a daughter of God and I can live with Him again. I know as I listen to President Thomas S. Monson that he is a prophet, just as Jospeh Smith was a prophet called by God to restore the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Earth. The principles and standards that I live allow me to live a life full of happiness and perspective. My faith is the core of who I am - it carries me.

How I live my faith

Within my ward I was asked to teach a great group of women from ages ranging from 18 to 90 years old. I was edified by their knowledge as we worked together to help one another and those in our community - whether that be through community service, humanitarian work, or simply by taking someone dinner. By associating with these great women from all different of backgrounds I have learned that there is a unifying light in each individual in the world that relates all of us to each other. Children possess a light that is contagious. Each Sunday I get to interact with children. By listening to them and learning from them I realize that we are all children - children of a Heavenly Father. We are all imperfect. Each and every day is given to us to learn. The children in my life have been my greatest teachers. I know that as I help them understand who they are and where they came from, that I too am realizing my own potential as a Daughter of God.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Every summer of my life, my family and I go to a cabin in Montana. When I climb to a mountain peak, look at the reflection of pine trees and the sunset on the glass-like water, or recognize the joy I feel when surrounded by the people I hold so dearly - I can't help by acknowledge the existence of a Supreme Creator. These moments when I am encircled by beautiful nature along with those I love, carry me each and every day. Show more Show less
