Hi I'm Judd Durrant

I am a pharmacy student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a Pharmacy student at Idaho State University. I am in my first year and it is proving to be quite a challenge. However, my big news really is that I was married to my lovely wife just this past summer. She and I are enjoying our first few months of marriage.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. I have learned that each and everyone of us need to get a personal testimony of what is true. I believe that every man or woman must ask honestly and with real intent to find out if there is a God and which church is the true Church. My conversion is one of many small steps over time. In many simple yet powerful moments the Holy Ghost has touched my heart testifying of the living Christ and his church. I believe that God and Jesus Christ called a prophet named Joseph Smith to restore the Gospel on the earth. Joseph was called in a similar way as some prophets of the bible were called. My testimony, even though at times it may weaken, is a strong foundation in my life. I hold fast to it when life gets rough. I often wonder how I would ever get over challenges without what I have come to know is true for myself. I also know that sometimes life is tragic. Loved ones die and some believe that that this life is all there is. I believe and I know that there is a power on earth that can make a family last forever no matter what happens. I'm a Mormon because I know I can be with my family forever. Would it be heaven without the people I love there?

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday at a chapel not far from our apartment. My current calling in the church (they change from time to time) is to be a ward missionary. This is different from being a full time missionary. I work with the Bishop, the full-time missionaries, and the other ward missionaries with sharing the gospel with people in our area.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Judd Durrant
We believe that the Bible is scripture inspired by God. Personally I love reading the New Testament, specifically the words Christ spoke himself. We refer to and read out of the Bible just as much as any other book of scripture. We are extremely thankful to all those who have had a hand in its translation and distribution in the past. We give great thanks to all those who promote the bible today. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Judd Durrant
Today there is a lot of talk of Mormonism on TV and in various other types of media. I know there are a lot of people out there who do not think that Mormons are Christians. I also bet there are a lot of people who don't have their minds made up yet on whether we are or not. At least, I think it is fair to say that many people do not think "Christian" when they hear the word "Mormon." It is my wish that all people would. The official name of the church is: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That should show who we believe in. The name "Mormon" has become a convenient nick-name for the church that is shorter and much easier to search for on the internet. I believe in Christ and I read the Bible. I want to be like him in every way possible. I am a Christian. Show more Show less
