Hi I'm Khodie

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona and have lived there all my life participating in Sports all year round. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Im a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. I became a member when i was about 10 or 11 years old. My father converted two years after i did as well. My hobbies are playing sports i love to play all of them my favorite are football wrestling and basketball in that order.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because i have read the book of mormon and asked my heavenly father if it was true as well as if the church was true. And i recieved my answer and because i did there is no way i can deny that this is the only true church on the earth. Everything this church does our Savior Jesus Christ had done when he was on the earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every sunday. I do not remember a time when i missed. I also read from the book of mormon each and everyday. I say my prayers as well as repent of the mistakes i make each day. I also serve a mission in Alabama!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Members of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints are not required to serve a mission but we are asked to. It is highley reccommended. And is the best experience you could have. As men of the church, at the age 19 we can submit papers kind of like an application into the President of our church and he and the apostles after much thought and prayer, recieve revelation or our father in heaven God tells them where to send us. It is a remarkable process and a great opportunity that we shouldn't pass up. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Faith is having a knowledge of something that is not seen. But faith is an action verb. Having faith means absolutely nothing if you don't do something about it. How can someone have faith in Christ and not strive to follow him to do what he ask of us. To serve Him, to obey Him, to have confidence in Him, to trust in Him these are all ways we can show that we have faith in Christ and in our Father in Heaven. In the Book of Mormon it teaches us how we can show our faith By comparing it to a seed. If you plant a seed and you nourish it, it will grow and eventually bear fruit. If it does that its a good seed if it doesn't grow and bear fruit it is a bad seed. In order for our faith to increase in Christ we must nourish it by being obedient, by studying his word, and by having that desire to believe in Christ. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Everything on this earth tells us that there is a god. You could name anything in the planet and you can always trace it back to someone had to create it. For example where does the wind come from? I did not appear out of nowhere something has to be behind it. You might believe in the Big Bang theory. Okay so who created the two things to bang together. Every single thing testifies that there is a God. Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

When we ask the question why do we have 12 apostles we need to think of the reason why christ called the apostles in the first place. In Ephesians 2:19-20 we learn about the foundation of Christ church. Paul is talking to members of the church lets them know they are no longer strangers and foreigners they were fellow citizens of the saints and of the house hold of God because they had been baptized into the church. And He goes on to tell them that they were built upon apostles prophets and Jesus Christ being that cheif cornerstone. Thats what they had in order to keep the church up and going. If you think about the foundation of a house if you took that away the house would fall. If you take the prophets or the apostles away or even our Savior Jesus Christ away the foundation is no longer stable and the house crumbles. Later on in Ephesians Paul tells us why we have all these leaders and how long we will have them. In Ephesians 4:11-14 he states we have them for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, and to edify us or the body of christ. The very next verse lets us know we will have them until we are unified in faith. Which in the world today it is very obvious we are not unified. He goes on to say until we have a perfect knowledge of christ. So that we are no longer as children and confused about the doctrine. So it is very apparent we Need them today. Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Since the beginning, God has always had men of authority on the earth. These men were known as Prophets. Prophets are given this authority or permission to act in his name. When Jesus Christ was here on this earth he gave that authority to his apostles and they had that authority to go out and preach the gospel as well as perform those saving ordinances such as baptism. When Jesus Christ left this earth the apostles were still here with that authority to continue to keep the Church running with the guidance of our Father in Heaven and our Savior. But eventually the people turned on them just like they turned on our Savior. I think of it like this: A lawyer goes to school and learns exactly what a Cop does in school. He knows exactly how to write speeding tickets and knows how they need to be done. Now if a lawyer were to see you speeding one day and pulled you over and wrote you a ticket would you pay it? Absolutley not! Because he is not a cop. And does not have that authority. Same with baptism if we are baptised by someone with out that authority from God then it is incomplete. We cant go to school to get that authority from God. It is only through the laying on of hands through ones who hold that authority as we learn through the example of our savior. In 1829 Joseph Smith recieved that authority back on the earth again to restore Christ Church back onto the earth. Heavenly Messengers came and restored that authority unto him. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a wonderful book of scriptures that helps us learn more about our savior Jesus Christ. Which is the sole purpose to that. The Book of Mormon contains a story of a Prophet by the name of Lehi who lived in Jerusalem around 600 B.C. God commanded him to leave because the city was going to be destroyed. So he and his family leave Jerusalem and travel over to america by boat. The Book of Mormon contains there story as the grow into becoming a great civilization with prophets being called in there days. The Book of Mormon was then sealed up by the last prophet here in America around 421 A.D. by a prophet name Moroni who later came and visited the Prophet Joesph Smith in the 1820's the lead him to the Book of Mormon. Joesph Smith was called to be a prophet and translated The Book of Mormon which became the fruit of this great prophet. Jesus Christ told us many false prophets would come but later explained we would know them by their fruits (Matt 7: 15-20). This is the fruit that helps us know Joesph Smith is a true prophet of God. We invite all men to read the Book of Mormon, think about the message and ask God if its true. If we ask with a sincere heart and with real intent the Lord will answer our prayers. Which is the ending promise in the Book of Mormon (Moroni 10:4-5). Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons read the bible, learn from the bible, teach from the bible. We love the bible. We believe the bible is the word of God. And know that it was written by holy men. The Bible is filled with history. Filled with wonderful stories. And is filled with our Savior Jesus Christ. You learn of His birth, sermons, His doctrine, His great sacrifice for each one of us, and about his resurrection. We know the bible is true and is filled with Holy men who were prompted by the Holy Ghost to write down Gods word. And because of our love for God and his word we thirst for more. In which we know God has not stopped speaking to us. He is not limited to the Bible and never will be. Which is why we believe in The Book of Mormon, and Modern Prophets. We believe he is still speaking with us today! Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons 100% believe in the Bible. We talk about the Bible, we teach from the Bible, we study the Bible and we live the Bible. We do believe the Lord is still capable of speaking to us which is why we believe in more scripture. We believe God has no limits. If God wanted to he could bring forth more scripture. And He has. We read from the Book of Mormon which is another testament of Jesus Christ. Which takes place here in america. It goes hand and hand with the Bible and backs up what the Bible teaches. We also Believe in The Doctrine and Covenants which is another book of scriptures. This is a collection of revelations and inspired declarations given to us to establish the regulations of the Church of Jesus Christ in the Last days. We also read from the Pearl of Great Price. Which is a selection of revelations, translations and writings of Joseph Smith. The Lord still speaks to us today and whats us to listen. He will let us know what is true and what is not true as we trust in Him! Show more Show less
