Hi I'm Brandon

I play volleyball, longboard, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I play volleyball; played for 6 years in school. I play the drums; not in band, just a set in my room. I longboard and skateboard. I will be attending school for Civil Engineering (so far anyway). I love music, I love hanging out, I love people in general, I love the Church and gospel, and most of all, I love my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon. My parents and grandparents are all members, and I have a ton of family in the church as well. I had chances growing up to stop coming to church and do things that I knew I shouldn't have done, but I found out for myself that it is true and realized that in the Church was where I needed to be. Also, I've seen how the gospel can bless people and families, and how not living according to the gospel can affect people that know that it's true. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. I know that through faith in Christ, we can all be blessed and eventually return to live with our Father in Heaven someday. I am so thankful for Jesus Christ and his sacrifice that he made for all of us so that we all can have the opportunity to learn and grow while we're here on Earth and continue learning and growing after this life. My testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel and the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon means everything to me. I know I wouldn't be who I am today without it, and am so thankful for it. So, basically, I'm a Mormon because I know all of these things.

How I live my faith

I like to live my faith by sharing what I know with people. Doing everything that I can to share the restored gospel with people brings me so much happiness. It can be through serving others, teaching others, answering questions, or just being a good example to people. Anything that I can do to show people the love that I feel from my Savior Jesus Christ is worth it for me. I feel His love and want others to feel it too!

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Mormons are Christians. We believe in most of the same basic principles that other Christians believe. We have the restored priesthood authority of God on Earth and the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, the same Gospel that He taught to people when he was here on the Earth. We believe that the Book of Mormon, and Bible, are the Word of God, and that through them, and prayer, we can gain a better knowledge of our purpose here on Earth and can grow closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

First and foremost, we can come to know our Father in Heaven through prayer. Prayer is our main form of communicating with our Heavenly Father. We can go to Him with any problems we might be having, questions we have, or even just to tell Him how our day went. And from prayer, we recieve answers to those questions or concerns, blessings in our lives, and just the comfort of knowing, even in our worst times where we may feel like we're alone, that our Father in Heaven is always there for us, and loves us, and is willing to help us in our lives. Another way we can come to know our Father in Heaven is by reading the scriptures. The scriptures are the words of prophets of God throughout time, but they didn't just write whatever they felt like writing. What we read in the scriptures is what Heavenly Father instructed the prophets to put in them. So, from that, we can conclude that the scriptures are God's "one-way communication system" with us. Even when we aren't praying and having that two-way communication, we can read Heavenly Father's word and learn more about how He wants us to live and what we can do to better ourselves. We can also do the things that He has commanded us, including keeping the commandments, going to church, reading the scriptures, following Christ's example, and other things that He has told us to do. We can come to know our Father in Heaven better from keeping his commandments because as we do so, we can feel Him blessing us for our obedience. Show more Show less
