Hi I'm Kirk

I'm Hawaiian and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Aloha to all. I am a Hawaiian from the island of Molokai. I love the outdoors; swimming, fishing, and hunting. I am a fluent speaker of the Hawaiian language and one that respects and honors my rich Hawaiian culture and heritage. But most of all, I love my family and spending time with them. I was born and raised on the islands and have been there for the majority of my life. Coming from a very small community and such humble circumstances of living, I feel more then blessed to have been raised in such a beautiful place and to have been surrounded by such wonderful people whom I love and respect to this very day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, was baptized at the age of eight, and till this very day am a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Both my parents are active members of the church as well and have been a huge support in helping me understand more clearly the importance of God and of the reality of a living Savior and Redeemer. I know that God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit are three separate personages. I know that they live and are most definitely real. The Lord has blessed me with such a wonderful family and has allowed me to experience different things in my life that has helped me and made me the person who I am today. I love my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ, and I know that they love me, even more than I can comprehend. I have most certainly an assurance that if I do what is right, that I will be able to live together again with Him, along with my family, together forever.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Over the course of my service I’ve come to a realization that no one is perfect, and no one will be in this life. But I try my best each and every day to be more like my Savior Jesus Christ and follow his example and strive to become the person that he wants me to be. There is no doubt that I fall short at times. All of us will. I face challenges and difficult decisions each and every day of my life and I’m sure you do a well. But this much I can promise you. The Lord is there and will always be there for us in our time of happiness as well as in our time of need, all we need to do is ask. I live my faith by striving to be all that I can be and all that my Father in Heaven wants me to be. Being of service to all who stand in need of help and comfort is another way in which I live my faith. Being an example of Jesus Christ at all times and in all things and in all places is another way in which I try to live my faith. Honestly, I’m not quite there yet, but I’m working on it.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

First of all, the word "Mormon" is but a nickname to the actual name of the church. (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) The nickname Mormon came from the book called “The Book of Mormon” which we believe to be additional witness of Jesus Christ. However, we believe in God the Eternal Father and in his Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. The Bible is the word of God and so is the Book of Mormon. We consider both to be the word of God and to witness of each other and of the reality Jesus Christ’s life, ministry on the earth, His death, and his resurrection. We believe that we have a prophet again on the earth today who receives revelation from God. We believe that no man can come unto the Father but through Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
