Hi I'm Arlene

I live in the city but grew up in Montana. Part of me is still a country girl. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm grateful to have a loving and supportive husband.  I'm a mother to one teenage daughter. She keeps me busy with school, sports, homework etc. I like to road bike, run well sort of, travel especially to warm destinations, stamp not the kind you lick, cook, eat chocolate, read, watch movies spend time with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful for the love that I have felt from my Father in Heaven. I cannot imagine living my life here and not having the comfort and peace that has come to me as I prayed for help during difficult trials. I know our Father loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to show us the way and to die for us, to save us from our sins because we are imperfect. Our Father wants us to be happy and to return back to Him one day when our lives are finished here on this earth. He loves us so much that He gave us a plan to follow and free agency to choose to follow Him if we desire to be with Him again. I choose to be a Mormon because I feel His love and peace more as I live the gospel that is taught here. I desire to be with Him again and as part of my gratitude to Him I have chosen to commit myself to living as He asks.

How I live my faith

I work with the youth in our church. We work to help the youth develop good positive qualities that will help strengthen them in there adult lives. We teach leadership skills, service, Christlike behavior, modesty, and just how to have good wholesome clean fun! They are fun and inspiring to work with. I also have the opportunity to visit other sisters in the church to get to know them, and to see if there is anything they are in need of. It's been a fun and rewarding opportunity as I have made many great friends over the years. I also enjoy getting to know my neighbors regardless of our different church affiliations. I've watched others kids, houses, pets, taken neighbors to the airport, doctor visits, cooked dinner, baked bread, cookies.. etc. I love doing this as it lifts my spirits and gives me an opportunity to get to know my neighbors better. I love the diversity and culture that exists around me.

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

The church has already established a network and an emergency plan in most places that should a disaster occur they can account for the member of the church and they are ready at short notice to bring in relief, aid, food and help to those in need. In the most recent quake in Japan they purchased scooters to deliver much needed food and aid to those most difficult to reach because of the quake. Show more Show less
