Hi I'm Max

I'm outgoing, I'm artistic, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently serving a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Chile. I love it. I'm so excited to share what I know to be true with the chilean people. I'm also very artistic, I like photography and graphic design. I have the greatest family and awesome friends. I miss the Florida sun, but I love missionary work.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up by faithful parents who, before I was born, converted to this gospel shortly after they were married. I'm 19 years old and currently serving a mission in the Osorno, Chile region. Being away from home is difficult at times, but I have faith in the Lord and know that he will be with me as well as with my family while we are separated. I've read and reread the Book of Mormon to know, for myself, if this actually is God's church on earth. It is. I have felt it and know that God loves his children and has a plan for us to return back to Him. He wants us to be successful and more importantly to be happy. Why would God, who is 'the same yesterday, today, and forever' choose only a few generations of people to have a prophet to lead the people? He wouldn't. We need direction as much as, if not more than the people of ancient times. I know we are led by a living prophet, even Thomas S. Monson. He guides this church through the direction of our Savior, Jesus Christ. This gospel has brought so much joy and peace into my life, it's real.

How I live my faith

I'm not perfect, no one is. We've all made mistakes. This gospel is designed to help make people better, it's a step by step process. I know that God is loving and forgiving and He wants to see us be successful, all we have to do is ask sincerely in prayer and I know he will answer our call. I don't drink or smoke and I live a morally clean life because these things are potentially dangerous to our bodies and I respect my body for the gift that it is.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is the key stone of our religion. It is the foundation of our beliefs because if it is true, then it would mean that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, that he restored this gospel through Jesus Christ, and that we have a true and living prophet today. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. While the Bible explains Christ's ministry in the Eastern Hemisphere, the Book of Mormon is about a people who left Jerusalem and came to the New World. I know that if you read it and sincerely pray to know if it is true, that you will receive an answer. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No one is required to serve a mission. Young men are recommended to serve and young women are encouraged as well, because it teaches patience, increases maturity and spiritual development. I personally have chosen to serve a mission because I love this gospel, it is so sacred and so real to me, I cannot and will not ever deny it and I want to share it. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes! Mormons are Christians. We believe in Jesus Christ as our savior. He came to this earth, lived a perfect life, atoned for the sins of all mankind, and died for all that we might return to live with our father in heaven. We love him and worship him. Show more Show less
