Hi I'm Cole

I glory in plainness, I glory in truth, I glory in my Jesus, I am a huge Nephi fan, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission for the LDS church in Detroit, Michigan. I recently graduated from high school, where I sang in choir and I was part of the tennis team. I've always been surrounded by other Mormons, and had many as close friends. I see the importance of solid friends who will walk along the right path. The music associated with the Mormon church keeps me going. I believe that music is the most powerful tool we can use to have the spirit of God in our lives at all times. I make an effort to use my talents to spread the gospel through music.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because the teachings of this church give me all the knowledge I need to live my life happily. The church brings me happiness. I know that without being a strong member of this church, I would be in a place that I would not want to be in. The Mormon church gives me the pathway I must follow to obtain lasting happiness with my family and friends.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by spreading it. Right now, as I serve a mission, I have the opportunity and responsability to share the gospel with everyone I meet. The message of the Mormon church brings me so much happiness, I have to share it with others. If I was living life without the guidance I currently have, and someone shared it with me, I would be eternally grateful for them. I know it's my obligation to take this message of hope and happiness and share it with the world.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Cole
No, but every young man is encouraged to serve a mission. The Prophets have always encouraged every worthy young man to choose to serve a mission, and while doing so the Prophets promise that many blessings will be given to those who do choose to serve. I am currently serving a mission for the Mormon church and it is the greatest experience of my life. I followed the instructions of the living Prophet, and I have seen the blessings come from that choice. Show more Show less

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Cole
The money we donate to the church is called tithing. It is used to build up the Kingdom of God here on this earth. By that I mean that it is used to build meeting houses and temples, print copies of the Book of Mormon and other reading material, and any other physical needs of the church. Without tithing, we wouldn't have places to meet on Sundays. We wouldn't have the wonderful Book of Mormon to read. We would not be able to take part in the wonderful blessings of the Temple. I love paying my tithing because I know I am doing my part to help build Christ's church on this earth. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Cole
Simply put, we should have faith in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. The only way to attain happiness in this life and in the life to come is by learning about Jesus Christ and doing your best to do what he says to do. The reason he came to this earth was to complete the Atonement. I know that He suffered for us and he understands everything we are going through. Some situations are so difficult, but if you simply believe and have faith in Jesus Christ, he will comfort you in your hard times, and make more out of you than you can make out of yourself. And that is the whole point of this life. We cannot make it to where we need to be without Jesus Christ at our side. Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Cole
The church is growing so rapidly because it is true. The strongest force in the world is truth, and because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is so full of God's truth, there is nothing that can stop it's progression toward filling the earth. The Prophet Joseph Smith declared "No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing. Persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independant until it has visited every clime, swept every country, penetrated every continent and sounded in every ear, until the purposes of God shall be accomplished and the Great Jehovah shall say 'The work is done.'
