Hi I'm Mike!

I'm an oldest brother. I'm an Arizona native. I wanna buy a St Bernard, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family, playing volleyball, long boarding around the sunny streets of AZ, and dreaming big!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and watched it bring innumerable blessings to my family of seven. We're nothing too special, but each of the 5 kids are making pretty good decisions and each of us are HAPPY.

How I live my faith

Roll out of bed every morning and pray. Next, read some Book of Mormon or Bible scriptures. Attend church every week and build friendships and help each other grow. For me, it's not just a Sunday thing, but something that's become so woven into my life it literally is who I am and what I work and live for.

Are Mormons Christians?

If a belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior of the world makes someone Christian, then yes. Show more Show less

How does the Church finance its operations?

Two important factors: One, none of the clergy are paid. Everyone from the Bishop (pastor), to the primary teachers, to the missionaries are serving without any sort of monetary pay. Second, church members believe in paying tithing, or 10 percent of their income to the church to help build up the Kingdom of God. This funds church meetinghouses, temples, family history work, and a pile of other noble causes. Show more Show less

What is a ward/stake/branch?

A ward is a gathering of LDS members who live in a geographical region. A ward meets together on Sundays. A stake is a collection of wards that are near by. Where there are not sufficient members to have a ward then a branch is formed. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

I've probably been involved in more service/charity for people not of our faith than for those of our faith. Everyone on Earth is a child of God and we try to treat them as such.  Show more Show less

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

We believe in the ancient, biblical law of tithing. Everything I have is a blessing of the Lord so when he asks for 10 percent back it doesn't seem like that much. I just make sure I set the money for tithing aside first and everything else works out. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Whatever you want! Fire questions at them. When I served my mission I loved sincere questions. Missionaries share a message that they can tailor to you and your family or situation, but if you'd like just a basic understanding of God's plan for us they're more than ready to teach it. How can I know Mormonism is true?

Pray and ask. To know what you're asking about I would recommend you read from the Book of Mormon and hear the story of our first modern-day prophet, Joseph Smith. Then sincerely ask God if it's true. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

The Law of Chastity is God's commandment governing the use of our bodies' sexual desires and capabilities. God commands all sexual relations to be saved for marriage and for husbands and wives to be faithful and loyal to one another. This commandment is one of the main reasons mormon families enjoy such great relationships. Show more Show less

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

The term "Mormon" is just a nickname because of our belief in the Book of Mormon. Latter-day Saints (LDS) is a more formal way to call members of the Mormon faith, but either way we know who you're talking about. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Baptism is an essential ordinance of the Gospel. Jesus Christ is a perfect example and he was baptized to show the rest of us the way back to our Father. Baptism symbolizes many things and brings a bunch of blessings, but simply put it is entrance into the Savior's church. Show more Show less
