Hi I'm Laura

I work as a purchasing agent. I am a mother of four wonderful daughters. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to my best friend. We have been married for 22 years. We have four daughters (17,16,5, and 3 -Yes that is a wide span!) I work full time as a purchasing manager. My favorite pastime is very simple. I love to spend time with my family! I also like to read or work outside in the yard.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon! I am so thankful to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! This is where I learn more about my Savior, Jesus Christ and grow closer to Him. It's through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ that I am blessed to know the nature of the Godhead, that I have a Heavenly Father that loves me and knows me individually and cares about me. He created a plan for me to return to live with Him again. This is through the Savior, Jesus Christ who died for me and broke the chains of death so that I can live with them again. I am thankful for the Holy Ghost, a constant companion that confirms truth and is the comfortor. By living the gospel principles, I am better prepared to handle the challenges that life brings. Two years ago we found out my husband had stage 4A cancer. Thankfully he is doing well, but for a year we struggled while he went through cancer treatment. This was a very difficult road! Thanks to the gospel principles I have been taught from my youth, I knew we did not walk the road alone. I knew that we had a loving Heavenly Father who was blessing us daily. I prayed to Him and I felt his love. I knew that because of my Savior, death would not be the end and this gave me peace. Besides a wonderful family which is a gift from God, I also had my church family. I want to share that the members of our congregation gathered around and were so supportive! They brought dinner to our family for months at a time to ease my burden as I travelled back and forth from the hospital. The many examples of Christlike service can not possible be written. And they did it because they follow the commandments to love one another that their burdens may be light. This service goes on all the time behind the scenes. These are just a few of the reasons that I choose to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I love to attend church each Sunday and take the sacrament to renew the covants that I made when I was baptized. This helps me to stay close to my Savior, Jesus Christ. I do my best to teach my children to follow His example. I am a member of the Relief Society (which is a womans group in the church). As a member of the Relief Society, I have the opportunity to be a visiting teacher. The visiting teaching program ensures that each sister in the organization is visited monthly. At each visit, a gospel message is shared. Friendships are formed as we get to know each other and serve one another. Besides being a visiting teacher, I also have a visiting teacher assigned to visit me. She is a wonderful woman who sets an example for me to follow. She is there for me whenever I need help. For me, church is not just a "Sunday thing". I try to incorprate gospel principles into my everyday life. Daily prayer for example, is something that helps me stay close to my Heavenly Father. I do my best to try to stay focused on what important in life. .
