Hi I'm John T

I'm a Mormon, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I was born in Arizona, and raised in Arizona and Virginia. I currently live in Arizona with my wife. We have four grown children. They live in Arizona and Texas. I am a Tax Professional and run my own business and service clients throughout Arizona and many other states. I like to sing, and I serve as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America. I shoot black powder rifles with the Scouts, and participate with them in other "mountain man" activities. My goal is that every one of them earns the Eagle rank. My three sons earned theirs. I love my country, and am studying its history. I do not want to repeat its mistakes, but to perpetuate its greatness.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by parents who taught me in the ways of the Lord. They told me that I was responsible for what I believed, and that I should study and pray for a testimony of the Savior and His Church. I took them at their word, and found that I loved everything they had taught me, and wanted to draw as near to my Heavenly Father and His Son as possible. From a very early age until the present, I have immersed myself in God's word. I have approached God in prayer, and I know that what He has said in the Scriptures is true. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ and am grateful for His atoning sacrifice. I know He lives, and comforts me when I need it. He is always ready to help me in any situation. I also know that He is available to any person who calls upon Him with sincere faith. He will comfort anyone else, just as He comforts me.

How I live my faith

I serve in my Church. Since we have no paid ministry, I all do what I can to help it progress. In the past I have taught in the Sunday School, Children's organization, Young Men's organization, and adult classes. I have served in leadership and administrative positions; helping to build the Kingdom of God on earth. I help maintain our houses of worship, and give voluntary, humanitarian service. I strive to love my fellowmen, and to show respect to all people, regardless of their beliefs or actions. I try to be honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and to do good to all men. I follow the admonition of the Apostle Paul by believing, hoping, and enduring all things. I seek for that which is virtuous, lovely, of good report, and praiseworthy. I ask for God to forgive my sins, and to help me to forgive those who do me wrong. I also attempt to stand up as a valiant witness of Jesus Christ in word, deed, and thought; and to live as He would have me live. For He truly said, "Therefore I would that ye should be perfect even as I, or your Father who is in heaven is perfect."

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

John T
"For we labor diligently...to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do...and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be made perfect in Christ...then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ..." Are Mormons Christians?

John T
YES! "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." "We believe that through the Atonement of Christ all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel." "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ...that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." "...and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God..." Show more Show less
