Hi I'm Jeff Zealley

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm married and have four great kids, two boys and two girls. Recently I earned my MBA. It was a challenge going back to school after 20 years, but I made it! My favorite hobby is studying World War II. I deeply admire those who served during that time and never tire of reading their stories. I also love Cajun food, especially gumbo and shrimp etouffee. I enjoy cooking it once in awhile, and when I do, I make plenty so I can enjoy it for several days! For 20 years I worked as a funeral director but now work in marketing. I'm a member of a federal disaster mortuary team which has been personally rewarding. It has allowed me to develop some wonderful friendships with great people from all over the country.

Why I am a Mormon

My family joined the LDS Church when I was 10 years old. My best friend from school was a Mormon and our family went to church meetings for several months before getting baptized. I can honestly say that the Gospel has brought a lot of peace in my life. I've had my share of tough times, but when I work hard to follow Christ, those tough times are a lot easier. I know this church is the true church of God and that he leads it through a living prophet, just like he did a long time ago. Following Christ isn't always the easiest thing to do, but He helps me so much that I really can't complain. He certainly went through a lot more that I'll ever have to.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm one of the people assigned to help others in our area learn about the church. I also work to help new church members or those who don't come out too often to learn more about the Savior. I love our church because there are so many opportunities to help others. I've been the one being helped before so it's nice to give back.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Jeff Zealley
It's pretty simple, but requires sincerity and humility. You need to study the teachings of our church, read the Book of Mormon and then ask God, really ask Him, and not just once. God is our Heavenly Father. He loves us more than our earthly parents and wants us to know what is true. Have faith, get to know some Mormons, ask questions, visit church meetings. There is no single way to "know" it is true but the Holy Ghost will help you feel the truth of what you've learned. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Jeff Zealley
The missionaries are not paid for their service. They are encouraged to work before they go on a mission and save as much as possible to help pay for their expenses. Their families also help out with the costs. Some missionaries and their families who cannot afford all the expenses of a mission. The church members also donate to a general fund for missionaries to help those who want to but cannot afford the full cost of a mission. That's just another great thing about the church. If you want to serve, there's always a way provided. Show more Show less
