Hi I'm Lauren

I consume PB&J on a daily basis, I get lost ALL the time, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 21 year old junior in college studying news broadcasting. I've only been a member for 3 years now but it's been the biggest (and happiest) part of my life. I'm known for my lack of driving skills (apparently running over medians and getting confused on one-ways will earn you a reputation) and I've even gone through 3 GPSs within 3 years. My biggest dream right now is to not only finish college but to become a TV journalist, hopefully become the next Jeanne Moos.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are two different religions; my mom is Mormon and my dad is Catholic. I was raised in the Catholic church growing up, but I was able to attend church or church activities with my mom on rare occasions. When I went to the Mormon church I noticed there was a happiness it brought into my life that I never found anywhere else. The LDS church also brought me closer to my savior when I began to read and study the Book of Mormon. After reading the Book of Mormon I could not deny that it was another true testament of Jesus Christ and could not wait to become a member of the church. Years later I still feel that happiness I first experienced long ago whenever I attend church every Sunday or when I study the scriptures.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite ways to practice or live my faith is through FHE. FHE is short for Family Home Evening. It is a wonderful program where Monday night you set aside time to share a gospel message followed by a fun activity. Usually this is done within your own family, but for many college students away from home we gather together in groups and make our own "families". FHE has taught me so much spiritually and I've made so many friends through the activities we do. Plus having it on Mondays is a great way to keep Christ in my life when I have a hectic week ahead.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Lauren
The Law of Chastity is the commandment that we save ourselves until marriage and do not practice anything that may break that commandment. Being a young single college student in todays world I see many people who do not believe in this Law or understand it. But I testify that saving yourself for marriage is a wonderful thing that will bring many blessings into your life. Show more Show less
