Hi I'm Shelby Anne

I love life. I love my family. I love music. I love to laugh. I am adventurous, genuine, happy, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old and am from Utah. However, I spent the majority of my high school years living in Atlanta, Georgia. I fell in the love with the South and hope to go back there someday and raise a family. I am a first year college student, and I have not decided on a major yet. I am taking this time to live my life to the fullest! I love having this time to meet new people, learn about all different subjects, and try out new adventures and hobbies. I want to push myself to be the best person I can be! I love to travel, bake, play the violin, read, and attend school. I have a dream of becoming an event planner and plan weddings and all sorts of events for all sorts of people! I hope to enrich my life with a variety of opportunities to help me continue learning and stretching myself. I want to fill my life with experiences that will bless my family and others around me. I hope to make a difference in the lives of those around me, no matter how small it may be! So many people have influenced me for the better in so many different ways, and I hope to be that same sort of influence in the life of another!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church and have always been surrounded by the strong examples of my parents and extended family members of how the living the gospel will bring comfort, peace, and joy into my life. I chose to get baptized when I was 8 years old, but it wasn't until my teenage years that I decided I really wanted to be a member of this Church because I knew for myself it was true. Through reading the Book of Mormon, listening to and pondering the testimonies of my family, friends, and leaders, praying, and doing all that I can to live righteously, I have come to know that this church is true. I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Joseph Smith translated it with power from God. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know me personally, and that they love me unconditionally--more than the human heart can comprehend. I know that the Atonement is real and that Christ suffered for me and for each of us individually in the Garden. Because of the Atonement, and through faith unto repentance, I know that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father. My family can be together forever if we are all trying our hardest to live like Christ. I have a divine nature, and I have been sent to Earth to fulfill my personal mission with guidance from the Holy Ghost. I know that there are living prophets on the Earth today, and they give us needed direction to help us back to our Heavenly Father. I know that the organization of this Church has been divinely inspired. No matter where I live, I know that the gospel will always be the same; it is unchanging. I look forward to the day that I will be able to attend the temple and be sealed to my future family for eternity. The gospel has become the absolute anchor for my life. Having the Holy Ghost as my companion guides me in every aspect of my life.

How I live my faith

I attend my ward meetings at my student ward every Sunday. I always try to reach out and get to know the other students, because you never know who might be in need of a friend or someone to talk to. I read my scriptures and pray every day. I do my absolute best to give service to my family, because they have and continue to do so much for me. I participate in community service activities when I get the chance. Every day I wake up and think to myself, "Today is going to be a better day than yesterday. I am going to be more Christlike and look for more opportunities to help others today than I did yesterday." By taking life one day at a time, and seeing each day as a new chance to start fresh, I have begun to feel more confident that I really can become more like Christ everyday, and I can do great things!
