Hi I'm Kirsten

I'm a wife, a teacher and Disney diehard. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born and raised in Canada, I trained and competed in gymnastics for 19 years. I was blessed to be able to do gymnastics and get an education at Brigham Young University. It was at university where I met my prince charming. We have been married for 7 years and can't wait for more! For the last 6 years, I have been a teacher. I have loved working with children of all ages and abilities. Currently, I have the opportunity to work with students on the Autistic spectrum - they are truly amazing kids! My hobbies include scrapbooking, music (listening, singing and playing), Asian dramas/anime, reading, and anything Disney.

Why I am a Mormon

At first, I think I was only mormon because my family was - that's how I was raised. But after living on my own, making my own decisions (good and bad), as well as many mistakes, I have come to the belief that being Mormon has helped me to become a better person inside. Being Mormon teaches me eternal principles that give me hope when I am feeling down, strength when I am feeling weak, and shows me ways that I can be happy even when life is tough.

How I live my faith

Each week I go to church. I also am a part of our church choir because I love music. I have had many callings, but my current calling is Young Women's teacher. I teach the Mia Maids (14-15 year old girls who are very energetic and boy crazy!). I also visit with and teach some of the women I go to church with - we call this being a visiting teacher. I really enjoy doing this because it gives me a chance to make new friends, as well as the opportunity to serve others.
