Hi I'm Geoff

I'm a broke student, working towards being a broke teacher, enjoying everyday with my wife, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a full time student living with my beautiful wife in Vancouver. On the weekends I spend time with my family and friends, and I go to church. I enjoy downhill mountain biking, and playing hockey.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but like everyone, I came to a point in my life where I needed to decide if it was right for me. Through prayer when I was a teenager I received an inspired answer to my question. God knows the truth, and he wants us to know it, we just need to ask him through prayer, and he will let us know through the Holy Ghost. The plan of salvation as taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I know that if we follow that plan that God has for us, that we will be happy.

How I live my faith

I go to church every sunday and I pray often. I try to help those around me, and let them know that I believe in Jesus Christ and his teachings. Being happy is a big part of how I live my faith as well, through the gospel I can find joy throughout life, even in the negative. Everything can teach us something, and if we can see the positive side to each trial and opportunity, we can learn life's lessons. The eternal perspective that comes from the plan of salvation has also helped me understand that this life is brief, and we should live it as best as we can and help others to do the same. Through Jesus Christ, all things that are unfair in this life can be made right again, whether here, or in the eternities. Everything will be ok!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Geoff
Truth is an interesting thing. We must recognize that in order to receive something such as truth, we must have a valid source. We believe in a God of truth and light. He is the source of truth. If this be the case, then to know if anything is true (mormonism, etc.) we must go to the source of all truth. Through the amazing gift of prayer (or talking with God) we can literally ask God any question, or tell him anything. When we believe in the principle of prayer, we are promised that God will tell us personally the answers through the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost can be felt in our minds and in our hearts and will teach us. Through study, prayer, and a strong belief I would receive an answer, I got one. Give it a try, pray and ask God a question, ask Him if He can hear you, or if He loves you, and you'll learn that he listens and answers. Show more Show less
