Hi I'm Michelle.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am passionate about many things, most of which fall within the arts. I love singing, Broadway musicals, painting, (most especially oil and mixed media) interior decorating and recently I've taken up quilting too. I love reading almost anything and everything. I recently read The Book Thief and highly recommend it to anyone with a love for WW2 literature. I studied painting for my undergraduate degree and try to paint whenever I can. I love most of all being with those I love, my husband and my extended family when we can get together.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that God directs us in the present day as He always has in the past, through a living prophet, chosen by God to tell us what He would have us know in Our day with Our problems. I've felt personally God's love for me as a specific person, child. As I've faced my different challenges, again and again, when I feel I have nothing more to give, I feel my Savior's love and support. I believe that He lives, died and is now a resurrected being intent on us being happy and successful in this life. He showed the perfect example of how to live so that may be a reality for all that will follow that perfect example. When no one else can understand He always can. I've felt His love and support as I pray to God for strength and when I don't feel like I deserve it. Everyday I rely on the truths found in the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ to direct my life. I love that the truths are simple, that God is so merciful and that we, through repentance, can become better each day. A favorite quote of mine is from the movie Anne of Green Gables, "each day is new with no mistakes in it." What a happy gift from God to be able to pick up each day and try to be a little better, kinder, more sensitive, loving or accepting. Why am I am Mormon? Because I've felt in my heart, in happy moments and hard times that God not only is aware of me but that He did restore His full Gospel through the Prophet Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

Goodness, how do you summarize that? Honestly for me, the easiest way to describe it is in the little day to day actions; reading the scriptures, praying alone and with my family, studying the words of living prophets and apostles and more praying. Praying in my heart that I'll be kept safe, that I'll be more kind than the day before, in gratitude for a blessing, to know how I can reach outside myself and help others. Living what I believe isn't a checklist to be accomplished everyday, it is who I am it is what makes me go each day.
