Hi I'm Joel

I am a dentist and played football in the Rose Bowl....sortof. And live on a farm.

About Me

Live on a farm in Virginia and my wife and I are raising six children, 15 head of cattle, 13 goats, 23 chickens and thousands of bees. Also have a private dental practice. Spend far more time on the farm than I do in the office. Love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, skiing, traveling and camping. And I played a pick-up football game with a bunch of friends in the Rose Bowl stadium.... not the Bowl Game.

Why I am a Mormon

We all have agency in this life to make choices. The greatest and most important choice we will make is whether to follow the Savior or not. We have chosen to follow God. The Gospel teaches us very clearly that we are not to merely do things or act in a particular way. The end result is that we 'become' more like the Savior in all that we do and say. The Gospel as revealed in the LDS Church helps us to become what the Lord expects us to become ... more so that just doing things.

How I live my faith

I serve as an advisor and leader to the young men of our Church in our area. I assist them in organizing activities and help them develop leadership skills. I am involved with the BSA programs and enjoy camping with and teaching young men about Christ. My wife and I have volunteered and served in dental clinics in Jerusalem, China, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Honduras.
