Hi I'm Emily

I've lived on both sides of the atlantic and one side of the pacific. I love traveling and I'm a mormon

About Me

Everything I do depends on my mood. I love to laugh and sing and dance and at other times I love to sit and read books listening to the rain fall. I love talking to people and I enjoy being active-walking, hiking, swimming, snowboarding, you name and I want to try it. I love trying new things and exploring the world around me. I love to see what others see and I appreciate learning other people's perspectives. I love being happy!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church and eventually I had to figure it out for myself if it was true. At first, I didn't think it was and as I was off trying to figure out the world on my own, I realized how unhappy I was and I was searching for something that would answer the questions that I didn't know how to ask. Eventually I began to see how the people who were going to church were happy and I wanted that for myself. I began to read the Book of Mormon and I prayed to know if it was true. God not only heard my prayer but answered it as well and I have never been happier.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily. If I don't read out of the Bible and the Book of Mormon on a daily basis, I can tell and I'm generally not in the best of moods but when I study out of the scriptures, I'm feeding my soul and am happier because of it. I try and follow the example of my Saviour Jesus Christ, He lived a perfect life and is our perfect example and although I will never be perfect like He is, I know that I can have that peace that He offers when we do turn to Him.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe that only through the grace of Jesus Christ can we be saved after all we can do. I know I've often thought about the relationship between grace and works. If we are truly following the example of Jesus Christ and doing what He would have us do, we would serve and love those around us because we know who they are. Our works don't get us anywhere, it is only what we become as a result of our works. When we follow the example of Jesus Christ, we strive to walk as He would walk and do as He would do, that means that we try to become what He is and that will change us, it will change our hearts and we will want to become more like Him. Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. If we worshiped Joseph Smith, this would be the Church of Joseph Smith and that is wrong. It's the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We worship God our Father in Heaven, and we worship His son, Jesus Christ. Do we love Joseph Smith? Yes because He was the first prophet on the Earth and his responsibility was to be the tool in God's hands to put the Church of Jesus Christ back on the Earth just as it was established in the life of Jesus Christ.
