Hi I'm Bill Price

I was a Green Beret, Infantry Officer, Helicopter pilot, shot down three times Vietnam No Purple Hearts.

About Me

I'm now old enough to get paid for being so. As a retired Army Officer who commanded a helicopter company in Vietnam and flew them, I can recall the times when I thought "Boy I am lucky", or God's hand protected me. I finally came to know that after being shot down three times that it was in fact God's hand. I wasn't really all that lucky after all. But in an importance sense I was. I now know my Heavenly Father and that He loves me. All the rest doesn't matter. It is true.

Why I am a Mormon

I wandered in the wilderness of life for 40 years until two young missionaries found me and taught me the gospel. I knew that they had been sent for me and I listened and obeyed. When they came to my door I was in the shower and my teenage daughter invited them into the living room and then departed. It took a few minutes to get dressed and when I went to greet them I found them standing in the middle of the room. They said usually people won't come to the door and we figured this was a unique brush off. Invite them in but don't come into the room and they will leave. I asked why they hadn't left and they said it was the cat. We had a Siamese cat and he was fuzzed up with his back to the door. Every time the missionaries attempted to leave he would hiss, growl and begin to attack. He kept them there until I arrived. A feline Heavenly Messenger ? I already knew there was a God but I didn't know his name or the name of His church. Now I do. I know this church to be true and that my Heavenly Father's Son is at the head of it. I feel safe and secure as a member of His church and the rules (commandments) are easy to keep and live by.

How I live my faith

I serve in the office of High Priest and as the Stake Sunday School President. In my county I am an Assistant Sheriff and Assistant Clerk of Superior Court for courtroom security as an unpaid volunteer.I work as such at least one day per week plus other days as I desire. While working in the courthouse I look like an old missionary except my badge says Assistant Sheriff on the star of a Sheriff. I dress in "church clothes" to include a white shirt and tie. I have several opportunities each day to say "I am a Mormon". I am proud to profess that to all who will listen. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
