Hi I'm Guille

I love studying, reading, and dancing. However, what I enjoy the most, is serving my neighbor! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 24 years old and am about to finish studying Industrial Engineering. I love studdying, playing soccer, dancing, listening to music, and reading. I simply enjoy everything I do!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a mormon family. My parents got baptised when they were young. They told me how they had made this important desicion. And for me everything simply made sence. I always admired both of them. My family was different bacause of our beliefs. And I liked it! Even my friends could see it. There is however, a time in our lives when we cannot keep following all the traditions just because. I really wanted to know and to be sure that everything I'd do, I'd do it not because my parents told, but because I was acting according to what I felt was the right thing to do. Exactly in that time of my life I had to make an important decision in my life: Whether to serve on a mision or not. If I chose to serve on a mission, I'd have to leave aside some great opportunities like a scholarship and some pretty fun plans I had made. I wouldn't be away for weekend, or a month! I'd to be away for 2 years! In that time more than ever I wanted to know if what my parents had taught me was true. That "the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (The Mormon Church) is the ONLY true church" and that "Families can be together for ever, if they live according to the gospel principles and ordinances". But that wasn't something I could find that out by my own, even though I had been trying really hard to do it. I had been taught that if we asked God, He'd answer any question, if we were only willing to act upon it. So I kneeled down and prayed but the answer didn't come. I didn't give up though. I started praying about it more frecuently, until one night after reading the Book of Mormon I felt something warm inside me. I kneeled down and asked God a different question. I asked him if He wanted me to serve on a mision for the Mormon Church. I felt secure and calmed, and knew I was the right thing to do. I have felt the same way many times, especially while teaching the Gospel, and serving my neighbor. Now I act according to what I know is true. That's why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I live my faith in every second of my life! One of my favorite activities is to teach, I and I do that every friday and sunday! It is really special to teach the Gospel, because the more I share what I've learned the better I undertand the Plan of God has made for me. I am responsible of the welfare of the members of the church that live nearby. In order to ensure their phisical, spiritual and economical welfare, I visit them frecuently. I also organize activities to help the men to understand their resposibilities in their houses. We set goals together, and evaluate their progress constantly. It's amazing how much I have learned from every one of this men and how much I have learned to love them and their families. With some other friends, we plan activities for the single adults between 18 and 30 years of the whole city. This activities have various purposes. Among the purposes we can find the following: To make new friends who live our same faith, to find studying and job opportunities, to develope skills like dancing, singing, practicing a sport, to learn about the Gospel, etc. However the most important purpose of this activities is to help everyone see that you can live your faith no matter what you're doing or wheere you are. And that is exactly what I love about the gospel, I live it at work, in the university, at home, in the church,.. everywhere. I'm not afraid to say I'm a Mormon. In fact I love being a Mormon!
