Hi I'm Doug

I'm a Husband, Dad, and career Navy Officer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father of two great kids. One a Senior at Univ of Georgia and one 15 years old. I'm from California, but after a 21 year career in the Navy, we've chosen Georgia as our home...great weather, wonderful green outdoors, close to both beach and mountains. I love golf, travel, hiking and fishing. The Navy afforded us great opportunities to travel and live in many parts of the country and world, such as Guam, Italy, Texas and Florida.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the LDS Church when I was 18. I enjoyed the comraderie and fellowship of people my age in the church, and was made to feel both at home and part of something very special. When I turned 20, I was asked to serve a 2 year mission in Argentina, which I did willingly.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is not a committment or lifestyle to be taken casually. Being a true disciple of the Saviour requires committment of time, service, heart, prayer, study, tithing, in short, it's a fulltime committment. For example, much of my spare time is spent serving others as a (volunteer) local church leader (leading a youth group and Boy Scouts).
