Hi I'm Seara

I'm just a girl in the western United States. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I always secretly wanted to work in downtown Salt Lake City and now I do! Dreams do come true. I love adventures, southern Utah and other exotic desert locations. I can't wait to go to Hawaii and Alaska. I play classical piano, I love reading and sewing and creating things: food, curtains, gardens. I love moving and going, so the easy access of hiking trails is fabulous. I look forward to the day my hair turns a snowy, glittering white.

Why I am a Mormon

This is where I've found the most complete and powerful understanding of Jesus Christ. Mormons believe that truth is in the world as pervasive as the sunlight. Anything good is of Christ. And we believe that good can be found in other religions and ideas and people. It's like a mission to go out and find all the good things you can. Treasure knowledge, beauty, and, most of all, the people you find. It's a religion of love and generosity and courage.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living. It's not something I sweat over. I live each day with the intent to better understand those around me. Christ has a perfect understanding of our weaknesses and still He shows us mercy. Realizing people are practicing life and making mistakes just as I am helps me forgive and love more easily. Hopefully this helps me learn more about Christ and allows me to imitate Him more accurately.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Seara
Mormons pay 10% of their income to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because, just as in Bible times, the Lord has asked those who follow Him to pay a tithing. This money goes to maintain the efforts of the Church to provide for its members things like temples, church buildings, and their maintenance. However, the principle of tithing also serves as principles of obedience and sacrifice. Any time we obey a law of God, we are given help and understanding. Especially in the case of tithing, as we are obedient, God provides ways for our well-being and peace. Show more Show less
