Hi I'm Jo.

I am a college student in English Lit. I am a reader, an aspiring writer, and a fencer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of three children in the best family on earth! : ) My older sister is a mother and psychologist and lives with her husband in Salt Lake City. My brother is finishing up high school and playing hockey. I attend a university, but am currently serving a mission in Oregon. Go Ducks! I love Shakespeare, J.D. Salinger, and Jane Austen. After living 4 months in London, my life goals include graduate school in the U.K. The gospel has added light to every part of my life, including a love of great literature.

Why I am a Mormon

I know it's true. The power in the Book of Mormon reaffirms the goodness of the Church every time I read it. Prayer is another undeniable proof that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. Heavenly Father has answered my prayer that Joseph really did see God the Father and Jesus Christ on that Spring morning in 1820. It is hard to describe the Holy Ghost, but it is real. It has told me that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ- back in beautiful simplicity and completeness.

How I live my faith

I serve people, and help them in small ways. I try to smile and say hi to everyone, and hold open doors and pick up things that people drop. As a missionary, I have random opportunities to weed yards, help people carry in grocieries, and vacuum their carpets. I love talking to everyone I see- from the homeless man in the park to the local pastor. I share the good news that Jesus Christ loves us, and has called a modern prophet to give us direction in this confusing day and age.
