Hi I'm Erin

I am an optimist, a ballroom dancer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying exercise science and studying for the GRE scary test to get into graduate school. I love to dance, run, play in the rain, and have fun! I am the middle child in a family of 3 and I have the best parents in the whole world! I love life, I love to smile, I love to laugh, and I love Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Because of the difference it makes in my life every day. I am happier, as I study the scriptures and feel the Lord directing my life. I know with all of my heart that our Father in Heaven loves us that and He has called a prophet for us today, to lead us back to Him and to teach us those things that will bring us greater happiness, direction, and peace. This is priceless to me because it shows His love and it helps me to know what I need to know and be who I need to be. I want to become more like Jesus Christ and the Church helps me achieve that goal.

How I live my faith

Christ is the center of my life, so I try to always act as He would. I do my best to go about doing good and to focus on others and their needs before mine. I read the scriptures and pray every day so that I can maintain a close relationship with my Savior and receive the personal direction that I need from Him on a daily basis.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Erin
Yes we celebrate holidays! I love Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, and birthdays and think that it's wonderful that there are many other days throughout the year when families can come together in celebration. Some of my best childhood memories come from spending time with extended family on holidays. For church, we dress in what has been coined "our Sunday best." Men normally dress in slacks, a button down shirt, and a tie. Some wear suits. Women normally wear dresses or skirt and blouse combinations that are tasteful and modest. We dress this way, not to compete or compare ourselves to each other, but to show respect for the Lord on His day. If you were going to meet a king would you wear a cut off t-shirt and ratty old shorts? Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Erin
That we can live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ forever. They want us to return and live with them and they have provided a way through the great and atoning sacrifice of our Savior, Jesus Christ. As we learn to fully accept and act upon all of Christ's teachings we will find peace and security, knowing that we are doing those things He has asked us to do so that we can qualify for that great gift.
