Hi I'm Lara

I grew up loving horses and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with just a love for horses. I remember when I was young I would just draw them all over everything. It was my dream to have one and when I was 12 my dream came true. Ever since then I have learned many of lessons of life and how God works through these beautiful animals. I also swam in swim team for many years and have learned dedication and gained a passion for living healthy. I love to camp and to be in the outdoors. I love to curl up with a good book and enjoy learning. I love history and learning from the many examples, good or bad, that are found there. I have a passion for life and love anything that is chocolate. I am currently going to college and hope to move on to a Master's soon.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a Mormon, but that really does not mean that my journey to true conversion was any different. I personally had to come to the point of knowing for myself if what I had been taught by my parents, family, and friends was true. I read the Bible and Book of Mormon on my own. I prayed and sought for a personal knowledge that this was Christ's Church restored again on this earth. When I did those things, I did receive an answer and a sense of peace and knowledge that this was true. No one told me, it was told by God and His Spirit. I have seen so much joy even through the hard times because of the knowledge that I have. My faith was an anchor to me when I had nothing else. I know that Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. I know He has restored His Church again on the earth today. I know that God speaks through a modern prophet and to each of us individually. I have received so much guidance from Him and I know that I would not be who I am now if He was not helping me throughout my life. I know that everyone who asks God to help them find truth with a real desire and intent to act will be given an answer. I have personally seen that in my life, even when I ask again and again I receive the same answer of the truthfulness of these teachings.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through my actions. I admit I am not perfect in the least, but I know that as I strive the Lord will make up for the rest. I try to visit at least 2 or 3 sisters once a month to see how they are doing and to share a quick spiritual message. I also served as a full-time missionary for a year and a half in Houston, Texas speaking Spanish. I dedicated myself to bringing people closer to Christ and to teach about the truth that has been restored on this earth. I have recently returned home in Utah and am now teaching young adults who are preparing themselves to go on missions also in the future. I love being able to share my love for the Lord and for those around me as I teach and learn from these wonderful young people. Progress and growth are key to living a life that is Christ-Centered. I know I can always do better and strive more to become a more pure disciple and follower of Him.
