Hi I'm Josette

I am a newlywed who enjoys the outdoors and spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a Bachelor or Arts Degree in English. I work as an Office Manager for a small commercial real estate company. I come from a big family, with lots of cousins, aunts, and uncles. I love the outdoors - hiking, camping, canoeing, fishing. I also love to read, especially Young Adult literature like the Harry Potter series. I recently married the love of my life in the Columbus Ohio Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are having lots of fun living in our small apartment with our pet hedgehog, Harvey.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom is a very active member of the Church, but my dad has not been an active member since I was 6 or 7 years old. When I was young, my parents gave me the option of going to church with my mom, or staying at home with my dad on Sundays. At first, my decision to attend church every Sunday was in large part social - I wanted to see my friends who I couldn't see during the week because we went to different schools. However, as I grew older and came to understand the Gospel more fully, I went to church because I loved Jesus Christ and wanted to learn more about Him. As I grew up, so did my testimony. I came to know that Jesus Christ was my Savior, brother, and friend. Through prayer and study, I found out for myself that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that the Book of Mormon is a true testament of Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has become a part of who I am - a daughter of God, and a disciple of Christ.

How I live my faith

I love going to church on Sundays - I learn something new, or understand something better every week. I serve on the Church's Public Affairs Committee for the Northeast Ohio region. We work with local governments and media representatives to plan and organize service projects and other community events.
