Hi I'm Blake Piercy

I'm a missionary, I have the best family in the world, I love training and watching fights, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a junior in college and am majoring in psychology. It is so interesting to learn about how the human mind works and develops. I love reading. Aside from the scriptures I enjoy reading fantasy books, especially the Redwall series. My family and I have always enjoyed spending time with each other, especially on Sundays. We always get together to spend the Sabbath together, eat, laugh, have fun, but most of all enjoy each other's company. I have trained in boxing, kickboxing (Muay Thai), and also fencing. It has always been fun for me to go one on one with another person in any sport. Right now I am serving as a full-time missionary for the Church in the Texas Houston South Mission and I wouldn't want to do anything else with my life at this point in time. Serving the Lord is the most wonderful thing we can do on this Earth. Serving a misson has changed my life, I know that what we believe is in fact true, I want everyone in the world to know it and have the opportunity to find out and accept it for themselves.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in a good religious home I never myself believed that there was anything past this life. It seemed silly to me to think there was someone watching over us, after all, we never see Him, right? It also seemed very silly for people to pray because I felt it was just talking to yourself in hopes that someone else might listen. There came a point in my life, though, where I was going through an extremely tough time and there was no one I felt comfortable talking to about what was happening. It felt as though I were alone and was just left to be miserable. So one day I started praying, I prayed to know if someone was there, if someone was listening. All of a sudden this amazing stillness and peace came over me and I knew that God heard my prayer. From that time forward, I started reading the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, and praying about it every night to continue to strengthen my relationship with our Heavenly Father. I would read a few chapters of the Book of Mormon each night and opened and closed my reading with prayer. I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon really was true, if it really was His words. Each night I prayed the answer was given and it was always so evident. Peace, warmth, comfort was given each time I offered a prayer to know for myself of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. After having all of these nightly experiences with prayer and the Book of Mormon I knew Joseph Smith was a Prophet, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints really is Christ's church in the latter days, and that I had to share this message with others. I prepared to serve a mission and am now serving as a full-time missionary for Jesus Christ, spreading the truth that He restored His gospel in its fulness here on the Earth again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my hardest to follow Christ's example. Although we all fall short, we must still put forth our efforts in working toward becoming like Him. As a full-time missionary for the Lord Jesus Christ I have enjoyed teaching others and testifying of the truthfulness of Him and His restored gospel. I am allowed to serve Him as a missionary for two years during which I try to find people who have been prepared to recieve this precious and valuable message we as missionaries have to share. Jesus Christ, His atonement, and His gospel are so real. Everyone needs to hear about it. Everyone needs to come to the realization that He has given everything for us. Everyone needs to hear that He has restored all of the truthes lost over the past two thousand years. Most of all, after hearing these things, they need to accept it and apply these truthes to their own lives. This is what I have done, this is what I am trying to help others do as well.
