Hi I'm Tamara

I grew up an army brat, living in Germany and throughout the U.S. Now I'm happily settled in Texas...and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, as well as a Master's Degree in Family Studies. Today I'm a stay-at-home mom with five children ranging in ages from 5-16. My "baby" started kindergarten this year, so I'm keeping busy with volunteering in the schools and with my church. I love to read, cook, eat, shop and travel (oh, and take naps!!) :-)

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon household as the oldest of seven children. My mother was also born and raised in the faith, as one of 16 children. However, my father became a convert at the age of 19. Even Mormons who are raised in LDS homes must develop their own testimony of the lessons taught by our church. I believe that we have a modern-day prophet, Thomas S. Monson, who receives revelation from God. President Monson directs and guides our church according to this Heavenly guidance. I believe that we can find happiness and joy in this life and the next by abiding by the precepts of the Mormon faith.

How I live my faith

I strive to be kind and honest in all my interactions with family, friends, and others I encounter. I look to Jesus Christ as my example of how to live a righteous life. I constantly need to repent and try to be better then I was the day before. It is only through the Savior's atonement that salvation is possible. I'm so grateful for his sacrifice on my behalf, and for all mankind.
