Hi I'm Lily

I'm from Northern California. I believe in Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attend college in Hawaii and am studying Exercise Science in hopes to continue on to grad school for Occupational Therapy. I have a special place in my heart for children with mental and physical handicaps and hope to specialize in that field. I am an adrenaline junkie and enjoy surfing, sky diving, bungee jumping, and basically anything that scares me. I also love to travel, experience other cultures, and learn new languages.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church but I believe that everyone, even people who have been members their whole lives, become really converted at some point in their lives. My conversion to this church came at the age of 8 when my father passed away very suddenly. I turned to the church for comfort and a sense of belonging. I found hope in the Plan of Salvation that I would be with my dad again. Since the death of my father I have experienced many other challenges but, because of my faith in Jesus Christ, I never suffered through them alone and I know that holds true for future trials I will encounter. One of my favorite things about this church is that it is an international organization. There are members all around the world and the same doctrine is taught in every one of these places. I have experienced this first hand as I have attended church in over 30 countries. I have bonded with people that I have never met before over our mutual love for Jesus Christ. The Gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the one thing that constantly brings me peace and joy in even the most challenging of times. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Since Jesus Christ is the center of my faith, I try to live His teachings every day by being kind, honest, and forgiving. Service is a big part of my faith, and also happens to be something I love to do. I have volunteered in several orphanages in Ecuador and continue to seek opportunities to serve others daily. I think my goals of living my faith can best be summed up by a scripture in Matthew 22:36-40 that says, "...love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind," and "...love thy neighbor as thyself."
