Hi I'm Anna

I am a teacher and a learner. I learn from my students, my travels, my family and most of all from the gospel of Christ.

About Me

I currently teach 5th grade to 32 wonderful students who challenge me to reach my potential as I challenge them! I have known I wanted to teach since I was in middle school and have enjoyed teaching here in California as well as internationally. I love to take long baths with a good book, go walking on the beach with my husband, and garden with my grandmother. I love the people and land of Japan where I lived for four years. I know that God is no respecter of persons and he loves all of his children everywhere.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church a child of two parents who were converted to the gospel. I am so thankful to have been brought up with a knowledge of who I am, what God expects of me, and what my potential is as a daughter of God. I have always felt the gospel to be true and have had the spirit testify to me on different occasions of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, the reality of a living prophet and have developed a personal testimony of the restored gospel. My testimony grew as I lived overseas in a non-christian majority nation and learned from the faith and examples of modern pioneers. The gospel has brought me all the joys and blessings in my life. Because I know that I am a daughter of God and that he loves me, I gain strength to make it through life's trials and hope for eternal life with my family.

How I live my faith

I try and read my scriptures daily and pray and ponder on what Jesus would have me do. I know that the best guidance I can receive comes from God. In church, I was recently asked to work with the youth of our ward. I also help in organizing events, such as luaus, christmas dinners, etc where the ward members can come and celebrate and meet together in a more casual atmosphere. I am learning how to do genealogy and connect with my personal family history.
