Hi I'm Melanie

I'm a Mom, wife, Scout leader, housekeeper, chef, cheuffer, and family organizer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Mom of 5 wonderful kids ranging in age from 17 to 4 months. Life is pretty crazy at our house trying to keep up with concerts, soccer & basketball games, doctor appointments, housework, taking care of the dog, the house, the cars etc. But I love being a Mom & wife. My hobbies are traveling, scrap-booking & going on fun dates with my husband.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My Dad passed away when my Mom was pregnant with me, leaving her with 3 young sons and me on the way. She had become active in the Church when she started dating my Dad in High School & it would've been easy for her to quit going to Church when he passed away, but she didn't- she raised us the way she knew he would've wanted her too & kept taking us to Church every Sunday. How I admire her strength. She remarried when I was one year old. Ever since I was a little girl, I knew heaven & Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ were real. I have visited the Sacred Grove in Palmyra, New York where they appeared to the young Joseph Smith & am so thankful for an understanding of their reality & relationship with us. They know and love us. I'm so thankful for the power & knowledge the gospel provides in my life. I know that families can be together forever & am so thankful for the guidance of our living prophet, President Thomas S. Monson in these confusing times. I feel great peace in following his counsel, along with the wisdom found in the scriptures. I am so thankful for the understanding I have of our purpose here on the earth & of where we came from, and where we go after this life.

How I live my faith

I attend Church each week & strive daily to live by the Standards of our Church, which include principles which help me to follow the Savior's example. I serve the people of my Ward by being a Wolf Scout leader for the 8 year old Scouts in my Ward. I attend the temple and do service there for my ancestors, we pay tithing, and participate in Service projects such as Humanitarian work like making quilts for orphanages. I try to be kind to all people & serve in the community.

What is faith?

Faith is believing in things hoped for but not seen. I have felt the presence of my earthly Father who passed away & have faith that he still lives & cares about me. I have seen the faith of my family bring miracles into our lives. I know that God & Jesus Christ are real & I know that they care about each of us individually & hear and answer our prayers.
