Hi I'm Andrew...

I'm an Idaho boy, a husband, dad, and teacher. I love snow and everything associated with it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live a pretty simple and awesome life! I'm the youngest of 5 kids. I have a mom and dad (whom my kids adore as "grandma and grandpa") that gave me everything a boy could have ever dreamed of growing up--LOVE! I'm a college graduate and starting out an exciting career teaching teenagers in high school. The greatest joy of my life are my wife and two little girls. I love being able to talk about them as "my girls". My favorite title is "DAD". I live for my family and find happy moments each day simply watching them grow and learn.

Why I am a Mormon

Pretty simple really. I've never found anything that has brought me greater happiness than the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I've often told people not of our faith, "Just try it out. If you find something better, great! But I'm pretty sure you won't..." I love how clearly my religion teaches about our Savior Jesus Christ. I feel I have come to know him. I have experienced his love, forgiveness, compassion, and mercy. I know I don't have to be perfect to feel any of these things. I'm grateful for what so many in this Church have done, by example and word, to help me come to know and follow Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon for the strength it brings to families. The gospel of Jesus Christ centers around families. He is our brother, and we have a Heavenly Father. Understanding them motivates me to be a better brother, son, father, and husband. I love how close I am to my family because of what we believe about the nature of families--that they can be eternal, beyond death. Lastly, I'm a Mormon because I've studied, prayed, come a to a personal decision, and confirmed that with God. He said it was the right choice. I don't want to go against anything He says. I cannot deny Him.

How I live my faith

My girls are great motivators for me to live a Christ-like life. Their examples of love help me be better. My wife is a wonderful example of selfless service. She stays home and works to provide a place where our family feels safe and can learn what it means to be a true christian. My daughters have a perfect example in their mom. We live our faith at home, in the way we spend our time and interact with one another. I have a wonderful opportunity to teach the youth of our Church on a daily basis. I'm a Seminary teacher. Each day, students at the High School take time from their schedule to come accross the street and study the scriptures. We talk about what Christ has taught and how they apply to us today. The ironic thing is that I, the teacher, always come away having been taught much more than I ever expected. Teenagers are amazing! They have great faith and energy to follow the Savior. They make me want to be better.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Many of these faithful servants work long and hard to provide their own means of funding their missions. For those not able to come up with what's needed, family members or other members of the Church willingly contribute to fund these missions. Show more Show less
