Hi I'm Greisy

I am from Venezuela. I speak Spanish. I am a stay home mom and I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Greisy and I was born in Venezuela. Moved with my parents and brother to USA in Oct 2001. My parents have been member of the church since I was 4 years old. I met my husband at church (the singles ward) and got married on Jun 20th, 2008. We have 2 kids Daphne that is 4 years old and Maxwel that is 2 years old. I quitted my job to stay home with my kids. I graduated on May 2012 to become a medical interpreter Spanish to English. I love to enjoy my free time with my family. I like to watch movies, scrapbook, take pictures, learn new things, read books, listen music, dance and have a good talk with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I have a strong testimony that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. I know this because I prayed about it when I was very young and I got my answer through the spirit. The gospel is my life and I don't see myself without it. Makes me so happy and give me the strength that I need to keep going in life. I love my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, I miss them and I want to keep the commandments so I can see them again one day.

How I live my faith

I always try to be a good influence to those around me. I am a teacher in the primary of 10 years old kids and I am enjoying my time with them. I read the scriptures with my husband every night and help my daughter to love the gospel with my example. I go to the temple as often I can, I feel so much peace there. I love to share my testimony when I have opportunities.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

We have the The Word of Wisdom contained in Doctrine and Covenants 89 is God’s law of health. The Word of Wisdom is a law of health revealed by the Lord for the physical and spiritual benefit of His children. The Lord revealed which foods are good for us to eat and which substances are not good for the human body. He also promised health, protection, knowledge, and wisdom to those who obey the Word of Wisdom. We should avoid anything that we know is harmful to our bodies. We should not use any substance that is habit forming. The Word of Wisdom does not tell us everything to avoid or consume, but it does give us guidelines. By living the Word of Wisdom, we become stronger spiritually. We purify our bodies so the Spirit of the Lord can dwell with us. We are not making this up, everyone knows that coffee, tea, alcohol , drugs and tabacco are bad for our health and doctors tell us not to use them. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Many people come up to me and asked me is we worship Joseph Smith and my answered is we don't worship Joseph Smith, but we respect him as an important prophet. It was through him that Jesus Christ was able to restore the priesthood, reestablish His church on the Earth once more, and again preach the Gospel in all it's fullness. I know that he was a true prophet called by God. Show more Show less
